Guide
Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe is one of Switzerland's most iconic experiences, sitting at 3,454m above sea level in the heart of the Bernese Alps. From Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen, or Interlaken, you'll travel by a combination of gondola and cogwheel railway through breathtaking alpine scenery. At the top, explore the Ice Palace, visit the Sphinx Observatory, and take in panoramic views over the Aletsch Glacier on a clear day. Choose from 4 routes based on your starting point, with your return time confirmed at booking.
Using your ticket
- When booking the ticket: select your preferred route, choose your visit day, then pick your entry and return times at checkout. Your spot on the Jungfrau Railway is always guaranteed, so there's no separate seat selection needed.
- If you book a guided tour: the route and the entry and return times are all set for you — and your spot on the Jungfrau Railway is guaranteed too.
Things to note
Holders of a Swiss Travel Pass or Swiss Half Fare Card must present a valid pass upon request. Failure to do so may result in a surcharge, and refund requests will not be accepted.
- What to wear? Dress in warm layers and bring closed-toe shoes, a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen — UV exposure is intense at 3,454m, even on cloudy days.
- Boarding at Eiger Glacier (Eigergletscher): Transfer from the Eiger Express to the Jungfrau Railway at Eiger Glacier station (Eigergletscher). Follow the color-coded markings and pass through the turnstiles at least 10 minutes before your departure time.
- Planning your return: Keep an eye on the time, especially if you hike toward Mönchsjochhütte — the return to Jungfraujoch takes longer than expected.
- Returning via Eiger Express: If heading back to Grindelwald, change trains at Eiger Glacier station (Eigergletscher).
- Wheelchair accessibility: Please contact the Klook support team in advance of your visit to arrange the necessary accommodations.
