Eligibility
- Restrictions on children entering the cave: The cave is narrow and has many dangerous areas. Children under 3 years old or under 100 cm tall are not permitted to enter, nor is entry while being carried or piggybacked.
Additional information
- Watch your head: The ceiling inside the cave is generally low, so please watch your head.
- Wear comfortable clothing: The cave is full of stairs. Also, the temperature is low and it is humid, making it very slippery. Entering the cave in shoes that are difficult to walk in, such as heels, is extremely dangerous.
- Caution for the elderly: The stairs on the way back ascend 21m in one go. Also, in summer, the temperature difference between inside and outside the cave can be 20 degrees Celsius or more, so please refrain from entering if you have a heart condition.
- Animals are not allowed in the cave (this includes animals in carriers, etc.). Customers with pets are requested to enter the cave in shifts.

- By bus: From Kawaguchiko Station, the highway bus stop, take the sightseeing bus "Blue-Line/S4-Line" and get off at the "Narusawa Ice Cave" bus stop, it's right there.
- By train: From Kawaguchiko Station on the Fujikyuko Line, it's a short walk from the "Narusawa Ice Cave" bus stop of the sightseeing bus "Blue-Line/S4-Line".
- By car: From Tokyo area: Approximately 12 km from Chuo Expressway Kawaguchiko IC via National Route 139. From Shizuoka area: Approximately 12 km from Higashi-Fujigoko Road Fujiyoshida IC via National Route 139.

Narusawa Ice Cave is a natural lava cave with a total length of approximately 153m, formed by the great eruption of Mt. Fuji in 864 (Jogan 6). It is a mysterious spot created by the nature of Mt. Fuji, designated as a national natural monument. The average temperature inside the cave is low, about 3℃, allowing visitors to enjoy a cool space even in midsummer. Inside the cave, unique landforms created by lava flows and ice pillars can be seen, and by proceeding through steep stairs and low-ceilinged areas, one can experience something akin to cave exploration. It also has a history of being used as a natural refrigerator to store ice, and even now, ice pillars that remain even in summer can be observed up close inside the cave. Experience the natural formations and mysterious atmosphere created by Mt. Fuji’s volcanic activity near the eastern edge of Aokigahara Jukai.
