- As a national key cultural relics protection unit, Datong Huayan Temple always prioritizes the protection of cultural relics. Due to the need for ancient building preservation, some areas cannot be fully equipped with lighting facilities, which may lead to a less-than-ideal night tour experience. We recommend that you plan your itinerary in advance and arrange your entry time accordingly. Thank you for your understanding and support of cultural relics protection work.
- Seniors aged 60 or above can enter the park directly with their ID cards.
- Tourists holding a皈依证 (refugee certificate), military officer's certificate, or disability certificate should present their ID card at the visitor service center to process their free ticket.
- Real-name registration for visiting and purchasing tickets:
- Huayan Temple Scenic Area implements real-name ticketing. All visitors (including those enjoying preferential policies and their companions) must enter the park with real-name registration for sightseeing.
- Mainland Chinese tourists can only purchase tickets using their ID cards. Non-mainland Chinese tourists should use a Home Return Permit (for Hong Kong and Macao residents traveling to the mainland), a Taiwan Compatriot Travel Document (for Taiwan residents traveling to the mainland), a Foreigner's Permanent Residence ID Card, or a passport to purchase tickets.
- Ticket check and entry:
- Tickets are valid for a single entry on the selected date only. If you wish to re-enter after exiting the park, you must purchase a new ticket.
- Refund Notice:
- Once the ticket has been verified, no refunds will be processed.
- Ticket Disposal Rules Note:
- Partial area control (the scenic area is generally open, only outdoor facilities, wooden pagoda climbing, etc., are closed): All tickets will not be processed for extension, refund, or compensation.
- Disclaimer: Temporary closure of the park due to natural weather conditions such as heavy rain and strong winds, which are force majeure, is an emergency control measure to ensure the safety of cultural relics and tourists. The scenic area does not bear indirect losses such as tourists' transportation, accommodation, and catering.
- Free admission and preferential policies
- The following individuals can enjoy ticket discounts with their valid identification:
- (1) Half-price discount recipients:
- Minors aged 6 (exclusive) to 18 (inclusive) can enjoy a half-price ticket discount with their ID card.
- Full-time undergraduate students or those below, with a valid student ID, can enjoy a half-price ticket discount.
- (2) Free concessionaires:
- Children aged 6 (inclusive) or under, or under 1.2 meters (inclusive) in height, can enter for free with their ID card or by having their height measured on-site.
- Seniors aged 60 (inclusive) or above can enter for free with their ID card or senior citizen card;
- Persons with disabilities can enjoy free admission with their ID card and the second-generation "People's Republic of China Disability Certificate";
- Disabled veterans can enjoy free admission with their ID card and disabled veteran's certificate;
- Active military personnel (including teachers and students of military academies) are exempt from tickets with their military ID card, officer's certificate, or soldier's certificate.
- Immediate family members of active military personnel are exempt from tickets with a military family certificate.
- Free admission for fire and rescue personnel;
- Retired military cadres, retired non-commissioned officers, and retired sergeants are exempt from tickets with their honorary certificates, retirement certificates, or sergeant retirement certificates.

- (3) Special note:
- All preferential policies are for personal use only. Valid original identification documents corresponding to the identity must be actively presented for verification upon entry.
- All types of certificates for enjoying free and half-price tickets must be authentic and valid. Those that are altered, expired, lack a certificate number, lack a registration seal, or have incomplete relevant information are invalid.

- Notes on Photography and Travel Photography
- To strengthen the protection of cultural relics at Huayan Temple, maintain the normal touring order of the scenic area, and safeguard the visiting rights and interests of the general public, without permission from the Datong Liao-Jin Cultural and Art Museum, it is forbidden to take photos for travel photography purposes within the interior spaces of buildings such as the Bojiajiao Collection Hall, Mahavira Hall, and Huayan Pagoda, as well as in common areas within the temple grounds including steps, stairs, and narrow passages.
- During off-peak periods (weekdays, off-season non-peak hours), photography activities can be carried out in designated areas within the internal spaces of buildings such as the Puguangming Hall, Amitabha Hall, Medicine Buddha Hall, Heavenly King Hall, and Guanyin Hall. During peak periods (statutory holidays, summer weekends, or when scenic area visitor flow reaches the warning threshold), photography and filming are prohibited in the aforementioned areas.
- During the shooting process, the travel photography team and individuals must obey the management of on-site staff, must not make loud noises, must not affect other tourists' normal visits and passage, and must not occupy public areas for extended periods.
- The following equipment is prohibited for travel photography activities: flashlights, tripods, stabilizers, reflectors, fill lights, sliders, blowers, etc.; leaning on or touching cultural relics, statues, murals, and protective facilities is prohibited.
- Handling of Violations: For those who violate the provisions of these instructions, staff members have the right to dissuade and stop them; for those who refuse to comply with management, this temple will handle the matter in accordance with the "Datong Huayan Temple Visiting Instructions" and relevant regulations; in serious cases, the matter will be transferred to relevant departments for legal processing; for those who cause damage to cultural relics or facilities, legal responsibility will be pursued in accordance with the law.
- Service and Help
- The scenic area's visitor service center provides convenient services such as consultation and guidance, luggage storage, free borrowing of wheelchairs, umbrellas, and crutches, and emergency assistance.
- The scenic area has well-equipped facilities such as barrier-free passages, accessible restrooms, and rest areas, with clear signage. Visitors with mobility impairments can contact staff for assistance at any time.
- The barrier-free access is only located at the scenic area entrance. Visitors who need to use the barrier-free access for entry and exit should all pass through the scenic area entrance.
- If you encounter difficulties, feel unwell, lose a person, or lose an item during your visit, please seek assistance from nearby staff or security personnel immediately. This institution will provide full support.
- The scenic area's broadcasting system provides real-time updates on visitor flow, safety reminders, event announcements, and lost and found information, offering guidance and assurance for tourists visiting the area.
