Hedong Imperial Banquet, located in Yuncheng Yanhu District, is a cultural tourism immersive themed dining project built upon the local cultural heritage of Hedong. The project deeply explores the history of Puzhou and Han-Wei Hedong, featuring local historical figures such as Yang Guifei and Wei Zifu in its performances. It offers two sets of shows, “The Banquet of Yang Guifei” and “Wei Zifu,” performed in rotation in the same hall. The hall is designed with an ancient palace-style decor, featuring a circular performance stage in the center. There are 54 fixed dining seats throughout the venue, with the outer ring seats elevated to optimize viewing. The dining experience is accompanied by live performances, with actors in ancient costumes interacting with guests among the tables. The rhythm of the performance runs throughout the entire meal. The dishes are developed and improved based on Hedong’s intangible cultural heritage “Thirteen Flowers,” following the ancient custom of individual dining. Each guest receives thirteen dishes served one by one. The serving sequence of the dishes corresponds to the chapters of the performance, presented by service staff according to ancient etiquette. The project integrates local history, traditional banquets, and live performances to create a unique dining experience with regional characteristics.
