• Participants aged 0-15 years old are considered as children and compulsory to have a private mountain guide (maximum shared by 2 children per guide costs MYR 350 per guide)
• Check-out time for Laban Rata Resthouse is 10:30. If you check out later than 10:30, a late check out fee of MYR 100/hour applies, to be paid directly on the spot
• Single room supplment charges at MYR 200 for solo traveller: The operator will arrange accommodation on a same-gender sharing basis. Otherwise, an additional charge will apply for a single room supplement
• Mountain guide overtime charges: Participants who reach Timpohon Gate after 16:00 will be imposed a fee of MYR 15 per hour per guide and need to pay directly to mountain guide on the spot
• Porter fees (minimum weight is 10kg): (Timpohon - Laban Rata Resthouse - Timpohon) MYR 14/kg; (Timpohon - Sayat-Sayat - Timpohon) MYR18/kg; (Timpohon - Sayat-Sayat - Timpohon) MYR 20/kg; Pay on-site to the porter by cash directly
• Transportation overtime surcharge (Late Arrival): Climbers who descending AFTER 18:00, an additional transfer will be arranged as the last transport has return to the city at MYR 350/van/way (Shared among climbers descending after 18:00). MYR 450/van/way (For climbers descents after 20:00)
• Drinking water/hot water: Laban Rata restaurant offers UV-filtered water. You can buy drinking water at the grocery counter: MYR 11 for 500ml. Coffee and tea are available during Breakfast Hour and Supper. One mug of hot water at the restaurant costs MYR 3, but there’s free hot water nearby. Prices may change with notice
• Please note that the Laban Rata has limited electricity from a generator, with scheduled power only from 5pm-8pm and 1am-3:30am daily. No hot showers or room heaters are available
• Please note that a charging outlet is not available inside the room, but charging points can be found at Laban Rata Resthouse’s reception counter. It would be much more convenient to carry a power bank
• Effective as of 1st September 2017, the Tourism and Culture Ministry of Malaysia will be implementing a Malaysian Tourism Tax (TTX) for visitors. Foreign tourists will be required to pay a flat rate of MYR 10 per room per night regardless of the hotel/resort ratings, to be paid upon checking in
• Luggage storage is available at the Kinabalu National Park at MYR 15 per luggage (no size limit)
• Participants are recommended to purchase personal travel insurance that covers accidents, cancellation losses, luggage loss, personal property, medical expenses, evacuation, and weather disruptions or cancellations

• This activity is not recommended for pregnant women
• This activity is not recommended for anyone with certain medical conditions such as high blood pressure, epilepsy, etc.
• The activity is able to accommodate for allergies, gluten intolerance, vegetarian diets or other dietary needs
• Participants who appear intoxicated may be refused service. In this case, no refunds will be given

• Sunscreen / Toiletries / Raincoat or poncho / Trail food / Cash / First-aid kit / Flashlight or headlamp / Valid ID / Passport (with 6 months validity)
• Backpack and a waterproof cover/plastic bags/disposable bag/lip balm/travel adaptor/sandal

What to wear

• Base layer: thermal undershirt; insulating mid-layer: warm fleece or sweater; protective outer layer: waterproof windbreaker; long trousers (best if waterproof); face scarf/balaclava/hiking shoes/socks/warm hat/extra pairs of quality socks and clothes/gloves

Cancellation policy

• No refund will be issued once the departure date has been confirmed
• The operator will send a confirmation email at least 60 days prior to your selected participation date, no refund will be issued while participants remain on the waiting list during the group-forming period
• In the event that the minimum number of participants is not met, a full refund will be issued, or you may choose an alternative date

• The voucher is valid only on the specified date (and time if applicable)
