Good to know
The tangerine tteok making experience is a small-group activity held at a farm in Mureung-ri, Jeju, and is open to everyone. The experience will begin at the scheduled time, so we recommend arriving 10 minutes early to ensure a smooth experience. The tangerine tteok making experience is hands-on, from kneading to finishing. Even those with no cooking experience will be guided through the process.
The experience is available in Korean, English, Japanese, and Chinese. Please indicate your preferred language when booking. An additional 50,000 won instructor fee will apply for English, Chinese, or Japanese. If you don’t specify a preferred language, the experience will be conducted in Korean, simple English, or using a translator.
The ingredients and tools provided will be used to ensure your safety. You can taste the finished tangerine mochi immediately or take it home. We recommend wearing comfortable clothing, as the ingredients may stain your hands or clothing during the activity. This experience is open to those aged 8 and older, and children are recommended to be accompanied by a guardian.
A minimum of four participants is required per session. If the minimum number of participants is not met, the experience may be canceled. The experience space features a café and a local food shop, where you can enjoy drinks, snacks, and Jeju souvenirs before or after your experience.

My friends and I booked a Tangerine Mochi (Rice Cakes) Making Experience here via Klook, and we were all thrilled. The main building is an old schoolhouse that is rented out for workshops. The workshop took place in a separate little cottage (visible in the background of picture 1). Together with 3 other couples, the instructor guided us through the process of making them within an hour and also explained some background facts about Jeju Island. She spoke very good English, so it was easy to follow the instructions. It was very charming. :) At the end, everyone was allowed to cut open their best mochi and snack on it. The remaining five could be packed in a nice box to take home. Taking a look around the shop after the workshop doesn't hurt either. ^^ They have many Jeju-themed souvenirs (I treated myself to a little tangerine cat), as well as tangerine snacks. And you get free postcards. :p
The instructor is a kind Busan auntie, very patient, and her English is clear. When I accidentally split my six-petal orange in half, she tried her best to help me fix it. The farm is in a remote location, so I highly recommend driving there yourself, driving yourself, driving yourself!
The experience was a nice one where we got to experience making a tangerine mochi with fresh tangerines and pre-made red bean & mochi. The nice halmeoni provided some background of the farm before class started. While the making of the mochi was more of an assembly of the mochi since ingredients were pre-made, it was still a good experience & the end product was really yummy :) would be good to go in a season. where their farm is open for picking of tangerines!!
