What to expect
During the Northern Song Dynasty, the Kaifeng Prefecture was where Bao Zheng, also known as Bao Qingtian, once served as the Prefect. The Kaifeng Prefecture of the Song Dynasty was long ago destroyed by floods. The Kaifeng Prefecture that tourists see today is a recently rebuilt antique-style scenic spot.
The gate of Kaifeng Prefecture faces south, and tourists enter the scenic area from here to start their tour. The scenic area takes the main hall, the council hall, and the plum blossom hall as its central axis, with Tianqing Temple, Mingli Academy, Qianlong Palace, Qingxin Tower, prison, Yingwu Tower, Yinbing Hall and other halls on both sides. The scale of each hall is not large. Tourists can follow the scenic map to visit the attractions on the central axis, and then go to some attractions on both sides to play.
In the main hall and the council hall on the central axis, tourists can see the internal scenes of the government office during the Northern Song Dynasty; In Meihua Hall in the north of the scenic area, there is a scene imitating Bao Gong’s trial of the case of "Sitting in the South Yamen", and there are wax figures of Bao Gong trying the case; To the west of the government gate, there are landscapes such as the Dianyu room, the Prison God Temple, the death row, and the male and female prison cells. According to the conditions of the Northern Song Dynasty, sculptures, instruments of torture, and various scenes reflecting the prison administration and prison affairs at that time are arranged separately; In the Qianlong Hall and Qingxin Tower to the east of the central axis, tourists can see the statues of the three emperors of Emperor Taizong of Song, Emperor Qinzong of Song, and Emperor Zhenzong of Song, as well as the life stories of the Kaifeng prefects of the Northern Song Dynasty.
When tourists visit the scenic area, they can also watch many antique performances, such as: "Opening Ceremony", "Bao Gong's Trial", etc.
