Tokyo Kimono, Furisode, and Yukata Rental Experience | Exquisite Hairstyling & Japanese Makeup & Photo Shoot (Ookini Asakusa Kaminarimon)

We brought our 6-year-old to experience this, and while I've worn a kimono in Japan twice before, it was a completely new and exciting experience for my child. The shop's environment was bright and clean, and its location near Senso-ji Temple was excellent. We visited in early March, before the peak cherry blossom season, but it still took nearly two hours for my daughter and me to get dressed and have our hair styled. I recommend allocating plenty of time. The longest wait was for changing clothes; compared to other shops I've visited, they seemed a bit understaffed. However, the results for the kimonos and hair accessories were outstanding, and we were very satisfied. We also booked a 30-minute photoshoot. The photographer was a friendly, Chinese-speaking woman who chatted and laughed with my child, like a kind older sister. The weather on the day of the shoot was lovely, and the sunlight and shadows were captured beautifully. We received an email notification with over a hundred photos that same day, and the results were excellent. Both the quality and price make this a highly recommended shop.

Huge selection of Kimono (2000+), friendly English/multilingual staff, excellent location near Senso-ji, with free hair accessories, japanese socks and slippers. good quality dressing compared to other rentals. I spent 1,000 PHP or 2,600 yen only.

Lots of option to choose from and staff speaks English well. Staff were also super helpful - from recommending which kimono pairing suits you, to the dressing up. They are not pushy when upselling, and they are very patient with you. 10/10 would try it again.

Had to say that I had the best kimono experience in Ookini!! and also lucky me that I got photographed with Malan, the female photographer, cause she took the best shot thankyou somuch Malan!! 😍 It took us about 30 minutes and she knows the best photo spot! She can speaks little English but that’s still okay we still had a good time taking photos together, we also got 6 edited photos from her and I love it somuch. Thankyou for making my memories of wearing kimono the best one 🥰🥰💗💗

I had such an amazing experience! I booked this for my friend and I, so that we could take photos in Kimonos. The staff were very welcoming and took care of us from picking the kimonos all the way to the hairstyles. we even got to store our belongings so we didn’t have to carry them around. I highly recommend booking with them! we looked so cute :)

I booked a package that included hair and makeup styling along with a photo shoot, and it was absolutely worth it. • The makeup and hair stylist was very kind, polite, spoke English well, and did a beautiful job on my look. • The photographer, Malan, who is Chinese, took such amazing photos.
