A winding road up the hill from minoh-kayano station brings u to the temple…after passing the check point, u step into a different world. U find small daruma dolls anywhere and everywhere…literally and still the temple looks organised….we did the daruma doll offering prayer and it felt peaceful. There was a slight drizzle and it brought out the beauty of temple even more. A must visit place if ur staying in Osaka or Kyoto….arigato gozaimasu
One of our favorite places during our trip. Unfortunately, the bad weather soaked us, but it was still a wonderful experience and definitely worth the visit. Seeing the countless small Daruma dolls scattered around the area is super eye catching. The temple’s unique atmosphere, surrounded by nature and filled with symbols of perseverance and good fortune, made it truly memorable. Despite the heavy rain, Katsuo-ji remains one of the highlights of our journey, and I would gladly visit again on a sunny day.
Price: It is cheaper than buying on-site.Ease of booking on Klook: I purchased it while on the bus to the temple. I received the voucher immediately and just presented it to the staff. No hassle at all!Experience: Pictures didn't do justice to this beautiful spot. I really enjoyed visiting this place.
I don't think words or pictures can express how great this experience is. The Temple is breathtaking and very easy to get to frm the station. I'd advise anyone to go and experince Katsuo-ji for themselves.
Highly recommend! It was so beautiful and such a nice escape from the busy city. Great value for money. There are six stamps which create a postcard you get to keep, stunning scenery, incense burning areas, and multiple gift shops and photo opportunities. Had a great day here!
We enjoyed our Kyoto Daytour with Miss Mia. She is friendly, speak english and gave us insights in every destination we visited. Mr Wang, our driver is skilled and punctual driver. We have a smooth and memorable Kyoto exprience. I highly recommend this Tour.
Katsuo-ji Temple was such a beautiful and peaceful visit, even with the rain 🌧️🍃 The mist and soft rain actually made the whole place feel more calm and magical. Seeing all the Daruma dolls around the temple was really special, and the surroundings were so serene and refreshing. Even in rainy weather, it was still 100% worth the visit 🤍
Absolutely amazing place to visit. A must see if you have the time! definitely recommend the shuttle bus up to Katsu-oji Temple from Minoh-Kayano Station as its quite the trek on foot, mostly because it is uphill the whole way. The staff are polite and super friendly inside. Daruma everywhere, of course! The koi in the ponds are super cool to see and absolutely massive. Definitely recommend for anyone (couples/families/solo) wanting a nice little getaway from the bustling of Osaka City to the cute Daruma filled wonderland. There is also many many photo ops if that is what you are into!

Katsuo-ji: The Temple of Winning Luck

Katsuo-ji Temple has long been revered as a sacred site for those seeking victory and success. With a history spanning 1,300 years, it has been visited by powerful figures throughout the ages, including the Genji and Ashikaga clans. Even today, people from all over the world come to pray for success in various aspects of life, such as health, business, exams, sports, and love

The many "Kachi Daruma" (Victory Daruma dolls) displayed on the offering shelves are placed by worshippers who, after achieving their goals, return to express their gratitude. The concept of "winning" (katsu) at Katsuo-ji is not about defeating others but about overcoming oneself. By making a wish on a Kachi Daruma, facing one’s inner self, and conquering personal weaknesses, one's wishes are fulfilled as a result of self-improvement and perseverance
