A Seamless Experience It cannot be more easier than this. You value efficiency and "no-nonsense" systems. My experience booking lift tickets for Zao Onsen was exactly that—precise, digital, and completely friction-free. The online portal is remarkably intuitive. Unlike many older Japanese resort websites, Zao has modernized its interface for international travelers. You simply select your dates, choose from multi-day or flexible "points" tickets, and pay via a secure gateway. The immediate delivery of a QR code to your email eliminates the need for any paper printouts, which is a relief when you're traveling light. The real "magic" happens at the base of the mountain. Instead of standing in a long, chilly queue at the ticket window, you head straight to the automated SKIDATA kiosks. You scan your phone, and the machine dispenses your IC lift card in less than thirty seconds.
easy online booking on same day, got the tickets from a machine using qr code, no issues are problems
First time skiing in Japan, I took a class here. The ski ticket also includes the ability to go up the mountain to see the frost trees, but there are a lot of people. It is recommended that beginners buy points locally.
easy to purchase and its my first time to zao onsen. collection easy from vending machine nearby the sanroku station. cheaper than if u buy the pass there with early bird discount.
It is very convenient to use. You can issue tickets directly by showing the authentication code at the ticket vending machine at the ski resort. And the price is discounted compared to buying at the ski resort.
so easy to jump the queue and scan at the web booking machines
10 points for fun, 10 points for convenience. Friendly reminder, web tickets are not available at every gate.
I'm Korean, but scanning the QR code at location #4 on the Zao ski map worked for me. Very good.
Take the QR code directly to the machine next to the ticket purchase office at the cable car station, scan the ticket and it will come out. It is very convenient, and you can also show it directly to the counter staff.
very disappointed we waited 4 hrs outside freezing cold and the priority lanes groups keep coming in before us. what made it sad is the zao staff dont have live cams or updates of the winter storm situation above zao mountain. in the end we went up and didnt see the zao monsters because of bad weather and waited another 2 hrs going down. i suggest having live weather status and minimize the priority groups cutting those who waited 4 hrs in line.
