Very touching to go through the hangers. The free audio tours were very good to learn a bit more of history. Planes were indoors and outdoors.
very knowledgeable tour! learned a lot about pearl harbour history and its fighter planes. highly recommended 👍🏻
Seeing many actual classic World War II aircraft is definitely worth the trip.
The content was a bit underwhelming for the price. In Japan, I'd say it's worth a few hundred yen at most, if even worth a free admission. However, considering the location and history, perhaps this is unavoidable. Once you go, you'll be satisfied.
Save a bit of money by planning ahead. Wish they had more planes restored as Hangar 79 was mostly empty.
Unless you're a HUGE aviation enthusiast, you don't really need to go if you just like it a moderate amount ^^; I like war, history, weapons, and airplanes, but I'm not a total enthusiast, and I thought the aviation museum was smaller than expected, so I came out quickly. It's okay to see it while you're there, but I wouldn't recommend it!
