Reviews
A very local experience. It was conducted in Cantonese only, but easy enough to follow along. Delicious treat!
A journey of knowledge. Who knew sun-drying salted eggs was related to traditional fishing net making! The staff explained everything clearly, and we even got to try it ourselves. It's perfect for a family outing.
The instructor for the salted egg sun-drying was friendly and explained clearly. Although the process was not reviewed, one must be bold and careful to do it well. It was very interesting to complete the work together as a family! As for the glutinous rice balls and tea cakes, we had more time and were not satisfied with them.
It was a very interesting experience. The instructor was kind and friendly, and even shared some history about Tai O. The environment was clean and hygienic. However, it might be better to try contacting the shop directly?
As a festival activity, the half-day tour of Tai O is actually very good, with boat rides and handicrafts to make, but we think the arrangements could be a little more attentive.
Experience: The experience is quite simple. The tea cake wrappers are pre-made, and the fillings are also pre-prepared. Participants just need to wrap them and steam them. It's suitable for children too.
The tea cake workshop's owner, Ms. Ying, was friendly and enthusiastic. My colleagues and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and fully felt the strong sense of community in Tai O! Absolutely worth recommending!
It was fun, and the tea cake shop owner was very kind.
It was a great experience and I enjoyed it very much.
The workshop was very rudimentary. They set up two tables inside a snack shop, provided a small amount of pre-steamed glutinous rice dough and ingredients. The staff didn't have to sell anything; they would just come over and say a few words when they had time, without much instruction. Basically, you just casually wrapped a few mochi yourself, and then the shop owner would give you a plastic bag to take them away. Luckily, the boat ticket was included, otherwise it would have been extremely not worth it and a waste of time.
