Following an early train ride from Athens to Mount Olympus, we will explore the ancient site of Dion, the Castle of Platamon, the bathtub of Zeus and Litochoro on this all-day Olympus trip.
Beginning with a visit to the archaeological site of Dion, we will firsthand see where the ancient Greeks used to worship the gods of Olympus. Fast forward a few centuries and we will then visit the grounds of the medieval Platamon Castle. Next, we will explore the rich natural landscape of Mount Olympus on our way to glimpse at the bathtub of Zeus found in the gorge of Enipeas.
Finally, we will have some down time in the village of Litochoro.

We booked this tour and was very excited to explore places outside Athens. we followed the instructions and went to station for 7:58 train. we arrived 30 mins early and train staff (thankfully) approached us (asked where we will go) and informed us that there is no more departure of 7:58am. next one is 17:58 due to major roadworks. no instructions, communication or anything from operator. tried calling them 4 times without answer. even asked klook CS assistance. later, they responded stating that our booking went to spam or something (which is weird), and gave us option for refund or do on other dates. unfortunately, it’s our flight next day. It’s not good to book this tour. we ended up going back to hotel and have our breakfast and just visited the national archaeological museum.
The train ride is quite long, about 4.5 hours. The castle is quite run-down, but you can see the Aegean Sea directly from it. The archaeological site is really just ruins; there are no complete buildings.
