Established in 1801, the first generation was from Omiya, and was called Omiya Matabachi. At first, he opened "Omiya" on the hexagonal string in Kazutani-cho. At that time, it was the usual place for drug dealers in Omiya.
The two-story wooden building, the entrance made of red shells, the bamboo garden, and the cypress bath with an umbrella-shaped ceiling are typical of Kyoto townhouses for more than 200 years. It is still open for business as usual.
