Initial impressions, tired run down, dirty worn out, in need of serious refurbishment. The surprise was this hotel has a 3 star AA rating with a 2026 certificate displayed. The last time this hotel was painted was sometime in the fifties. I have video of torn frayed drapes threadbare room carpet, black mold around shower, peeling paint and strong smelling room air freshener. Windows that wouldn’t close, ground in dirt. Mattresses that felt 60 years old. I wondered whether anyone received any professional training or qualifications. I complained about the windows not closing and to her credit gave me another room without question, however this room had an overpowering room deodorizer in it and wondered what they were trying to cover up. Booking this hotel was a mistake. The sign on the front of the hotel said it all, Lexandr a Otel several letters missing from the hotel name, suggesting neglect. I’m not the first to mention this.

Excellent Hotel ideally located within 5 minute walk of Fort William railway station. Comfortable beds and spacious rooms. Very impressive self service breakfast with everything well prepared and cooked. Reception staff were very helpful and friendly.

Hotel looks good on picture but bed is terribly not comfortable, inside the room it start smell parfume but it’s for hiding the old smell of the dirty carpet. Under the carpet there hole so when you walk in the room you may feel smooth drop. Honestly it’s terrible outside parking is full of paper and broken bottles, breakfast is basic and I feel they reuse the stuff of previous breakfast only beans was good and bread in toaster, I’m not usually not leaving comment for hotel but I paid way too much honestly I feel it was more a guesthouse for backpacker. I prefer warn other people that if the price looks appealing it not worth it.

Great location. Good food in onsite restaurants. Way too hot in my room and all common areas at facility.

The hotel while clean was showing its age. No bathroom toiletries was a surprise. Central location and quiet but could not recommend to others as the price was a poor return on investment for my stay.

Very convenient to shopping and Restaurants. The Hotel had everything you would need. We just found due to the age of the Hotel the maintenance and upkeep could use some TLC. The Roof top outside our room window had a lot of trash.

The hotel is in a convenient location for the town and train station. There’s also lots of parking. However, the hotel is tired and atmosphere was not welcoming. The Reception staff checked us in was cold efficient - so we got a room key! We heard other Receptionists give info about breakfast and amenities but we got none! Room was functional but stuffy and tired. We booked twice to eat in the restaurant but cancelled the 2nd one as the food was so awful (pie was the only hot thing due to it’s obvious encounter with a microwave, veg was inedible and mash was congealed). Staff were disinterested and also drinks arrived after the food - we had to ask twice about them by that stage. Even the hotel name on the frontage was missing half of its letters, it just seems that the hotel rests on it’s location so if that’s what you need it’s fine but we’d definitely recommend dining elsewhere.
