GoodStayed with kids
When we first checked told us our room had just been deep cleaned, we go up and there is a large fan taking up half the room and it smeels like a mixture of dirty socks garbage. Go back down told soory only room. I asked to speak to manager and told it will be a bit she is on break. 15 min later mamager comes and suddenly another room is available. Only 1 elevator was working the whole week with no sign of repairs in progress. So waiting hallways with no ac for 20 min to get in elevator with no AC and packed with 10+ people was miserable.

One elevator was down the whole time and the other went down one day. Had to walk up and down the stairs.

When we arrived for 3pm check in, there was no rooms ready. Waited 40 minutes in lobby.
Constant line for one working elevator in a 20 floor building.
Sheer curtains shredded in our room.
Continental breakfast couldn’t keep up with scrambled eggs.

Fantastic Love staying here. Great staff great spacious rooms (for nyc). Wonderful location. However this trip, the air conditioning in the lobby/hallways/elevator was out of service for the entire almost week of my stay. I felt particularly bad for the staff who had to sit & work in those areas during a heatwave. This wouldn’t have been so bad, except 1 of the 2 elevators on the premises was also out of service the entire stay. During busy hours it took an extremely long time to go up or down & the housekeeping team was also traveling using the same elevator having to bring many items along with them. (Not their fault.) Hampton Inn please fix the air conditioning & elevator for the sake of your staff & guests.

Before booking, I called the hotel with specific questions because this was my birthday trip. I asked about the air conditioning, noise levels, room condition, and overall guest experience. Kenny assured me the rooms were newly renovated, the A/C worked well, there were no noise issues, and I’d have a great stay. Those assurances are the reason I chose this hotel.
Unfortunately, the experience was the complete opposite. I had no hot water for two mornings, constant door slamming at all hours, a barking dog late at night, flies in my room, a broken shower curtain, and an A/C unit that repeatedly shut off. Engineering drained the unit because it had filled with water, but it continued cycling between humid and cold for the rest of my stay.
At check-in, I asked if another employee was the manager and was incorrectly told, “No, I’m the manager,” only to later learn the person I asked about was actually the Front Desk Manager.
Despite Hampton’s prominently displayed 100% Satisfaction Guarantee, I left far from satisfied. For my birthday, I received two granola bars and two bottles of water, and despite all the issues, the hotel refused any partial refund.
This was supposed to be my future hotel in New York. Instead, it became one of my most disappointing hotel experiences.

I stayed at this property the weekend of May 30. One of the two elevators was out of service, making it a long wait for both going up and coming down. I stayed there again six weeks later in mid July and the same elevator was out of service. This time I was on the fourth floor, so I used the stairs since again, it was a long wait to get on the elevator.

Don't expect Manhattan luxury for the price of $500 a night. It's a motel in the middle of the city and it's close to Madison Square Garden. The pizza place a block from MSG is amazing!
