Solo stay

Good location for walking downtown and catching public transport. Not in a loud area. Rooms are clean and have a fridge. There is no in-room coffee but coffee in the morning in the lobby. Most front desk staff helpful. The $10 food credit was nice in theory but no food for someone with celiac. Both the restaurant and bar claimed I was getting gluten-free modifications, and both times I was later sick.

The hotel is very well maintained, and we noticed they were making updates to keep everything looking fresh. The staff was wonderful—very friendly, helpful, and welcoming. We stayed downtown, and while there is some homelessness in the area, we did not encounter any around the hotel or our immediate surroundings until our last night. Obviously, this is not something the hotel can control. We rented a car for one day and were charged $60 for parking. I feel that any hotel charging over $40 per night for parking is excessive. Since the hotel provides a $10 daily voucher for their restaurant, perhaps if guests do not use the voucher, that amount could be applied toward parking. Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely consider staying here again.

The Paramount Hotel is my go-to place when staying in Portland. The location is central and easy to everything the city has to offer. The room is always clean and comfortable and the staff go out of their way to be helpful. Always exceeds my expectations. Highly recommend.
