Fantastic Really loved our stay at The Blue Boar. Enjoyed an excellent dinner in the beer garden, and the breakfast was wonderful. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Parking was plentiful and the electric car charging station was the best and easiest we used on our travels. Would definitely stay again.

GreatStayed with family · For friends and family
Nice country pub, was an ideal stop for us. Clean rooms, well decorated. We are in the hot period of July so the main issue was lack of aircon - fan was provided but wasn’t really powerful enough. Evening food was good, although would say my whitebait starter was very small. Overall though very positive.

GreatStayed with friends · For friends and family
We had a 2 night stay with friends for a trip to the theatre in Stratford and it proved very convenient. The rooms were comfortable and well supplied with beverages and toiletries. Lovely big towels, great shower. The staff were all helpful and friendly and we had a delicious meal on our second night.
There is just a little something missing, for example the hall carpet is really in need of refurbishment - it just gives the wrong impression to guests. But the pub offers everything you would need for a couple of nights stay, plenty of parking, good pub bar and restaurant and freshly cooked simple breakfast. It's about a 15 minute drive into Stratford and easy to find.

Fantastic Good size room, but furthest one away from bar \ restaurant. It was an accessible room which wasn't what i booked, but it was very quiet after some patrons going out to back for late smokes. Got a warm welcome when checking in, & there were good drink options, although surprised at how early the bar closed. Breakfast was excellent & well presened. Would recommend friends & family to stay there if cisiting the area. Only disappointing thing was the room rate was reduced by £10 the day after we booked, and although it said free cancellation up to 24 hours before, but when i tried it said I would lose all money if cancelled.

GreatStayed with friends
We stayed for a couple of nights, having breakfast & dinner twice. After a rather brusque check-in with a middle aged Asian gentleman (the owner?), we made our way to Room 10, a king sized room with an additional bed in a side room. As we had our Jack Russell with us, this may be a pet-friendly room.
The bedroom was beautifully clean, and the beds comfortable. I think the bathroom had not long been fitted, and had a fabulous shower along with all the complimentary soaps/showergels/shampoos that have disappeared from so many hotels these days. A thoughtful touch was the battery night light that came on at night, saving us from being blinded by the brightness of the usual bathroom lighting.
The only thing that marred our sleep was the noisiness of some pump or other that kept going on and off all the time. We eventually got used to the noise so didn’t ask to change rooms.
The pièce de résistance of our stay though was the restaurant staff, especially Stephen & Shubham, who went out of their way to be pleasant and helpful. The food was excellent. Unusually, the pub offered a short Indian food menu, alongside the usual pub grub. On our first night we chose that, and were very happy with the dishes we chose.
On Sundays, the Blue Boar offers an all day Sunday Roast, right up until 8pm, so after being out all day it was a pleasure to have that to look forward to.
Both days we chose to have a “Full English” breakfast, but cereal and yoghurt was available too. We recommend it!
