Fantastic

Breakfast was very good. Staff throughout stay were polite helpful and pleasant. Evening meal offered good selection. Looked like the room bathroom had been refurbished. One critisism that both myself and wife are 81 yr old pensioner and the provision of the shower in the bath with no hand rails fitted meant we could not climb into the bath to shower!! Hotels need to provide walk in showers instead of baths ???

From the moment we arrived the staff were really attentive and friendly. We felt very welcome and amongst friends. The room was clean and comfortable with a fabulous view of the surrounding countryside. The breakfast was cooked to order and they brought exactly what was ordered too. A good selection to choose from. We did eat in the restaurant the first evening and the food, wine and service was excellent. We spoke with some of the guests who were regular visitors and we could see why. A thoroughly enjoyable break in a fabulous hotel.

Excellent location for several local attractions with views to Bamburgh Castle and the North Sea. Seemed to be mostly used as an overnight stop on the A1, but absolutely suited our 4-night stop. Every meal fresh cooked - no 'buffet breakfast' under hot lamps. Attemtive and knowledgeable staff.

Fantastic

Solo stay

Location - the front faces the A1 but the rooms all look out on open countryside to the back. Staff were very helpful. Breakfast was good. 24-hour café (and nearby garage) were very handy. Quiet inside hotel. It would have been nice to have a safe and a fridge but, overall, no complaints. Good VFM.

Very well located for visits to Holy Island, Bamburgh Castle and the surrounding area. Although on a main road, our room was at the back of the property and we were untroubled by any road noise. Evening meal and breakfast were excellent, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout.

It was very hot, but the staff loaned us a fan. Still hot, but at least there was some air movement. Great location, wonderful breakfast!!

On arriving seeing all the lorries parked up was not sure what to expect. Stairs up to first floor rooms. Room was a surprise! very clean and plenty of room and a sea view! also surprising was how quiet it was. Did not hear traffic at all and it is on a very busy road.We ate in both the cafe and the resteraunt and the food was great! The staff were very friendly which was a bonus. It is a good base to visit Bamburgh and Lyndisfarne, both were well worth a day out.
