Room paint was pealing in some areas...no lamps, and the shades did not shade me from the sun at all.

The experience of parking my car in the hotel parkade is a nightmare. When checking in at about 9:30 pm at the front desk, I was told by the hotel staff to pay for the parking of my 2-night staying duration (2whole days parking), a total of $60(&30/day). But when I drove out the next morning, my parking ticket didn’t work. I pushed the calling button on the machine at the exit. No use. I have to go back to the hotel lobby to ask the hotel staff to help. He called the security guy and told me to try the calling button on the machine again. I did it accordingly and a service man answered and open the machine from remote. And the hotel staff told me I could drive in and out, just use the calling button when needed. When I checked out the next morning, the front desk asked me to pay another $30 because they believed I lost the parking pass card. So the whole parking system is belonged to a contractor while the hotel could not coordinate with it when there’s a problem with the system. They just charged the money, as long as they know the hard fact that I parked only 36 hours they charge the two whole days and plus an extra $30, because their own system mistake and poor staff works.

Good

There is no doubt this was a good deal for a summer weekend in Toronto when Pride and World Cup was happening. The location is fantastic and just a bit removed from the craziest of streets. Breakfast was included which was a nice surprise. It was a standard buffet style offering, but more than adequate. The building is older and could use an upgrade for the rooms. The bathroom in particular was showing its age with a very old and noisy toilet, well worn counters and some mold collecting along the top of the wall from the moisture. The walls are paper thin so be prepared to hear EVERYTHING from your neighbours, or invest in earplugs for sleeping. But if you're just looking for a good, solid place to sleep and clean up while you're enjoying everything Toronto has to offer, it should be on your list to check out. The parking is exceptionally convenient in the underground lot at reasonable prices.

If you're looking for a classic hotel stay, this isn't it. But if you need an economical place to sleep while enjoying all the sights and sounds of Toronto then this is the place to stay. With comfortable rooms and a great continental breakfast buffet, I completely recommend staying here to easily access downtown Toronto in a cheap way.

Really enjoyed the experience ate Chestnut overall. Great location as it is beside Nathan Phillips Square and everything downtown. The only reason it is not a higher rating is the toilet did not flush properly. Outside of that, clean, good location, and helpful staff.
