Very nice retro ryokan experience. The staff was very friendly and spoke english. Unbeatable location across from the bus stop and the start of the 7 falls hike. All the onsen were beautiful and private, such a treat. The rooms are a bit dated, but atmospheric and clean. We did not include meals since we are vegetarian and I wasn't sure if that would work. There are a few soba restaurants around anyway :) Only downsides for me was the hallway smelled of cigarettes really bad due to guests smoking, and the shower in the room did not work which wasn't mentioned in the description. Beds are not very comfortable but ok for a night.

Japanese-style Smoking Mountain side (Mountain Vie) · 2 Adults · 2 Nights

We had a wonderful experience with our stay. The staff are so friendly and the onsen is perfect! it’s also such a great location for the 7 falls trek. we would highly suggest staying here. the price is reasonable and the royokan experience is what all should experience when visiting Japan hotel location: is great! transport access: yes cleanliness: clean
