Akihabara is known for being the center of Japanese Otaku culture and is a major shopping district for video games, anime, manga, electronics, and computer-related goods. Before that, many people went to the iconic district to shop for discounted electronics, where Akiba’s original nickname "Denki-gai,” or “Electric Town.” came from.

Located in central Tokyo as part of Chiyoda-ku, Akihabara is both a train station and a popular neighborhood known by locals. Although you might not find "Akihabara" listed in addresses, most spots in this vibrant area go by a Soto-Kanda address (or something similar with "Kanda" nearby).
