I took my mother out for the trip, it was a lovely day out! You don’t need to be a LOTR fan to enjoy the places we went to. The sceneries were beautiful, and the Weta studio was very cool. Our guide was knowledgeable - we couldn’t think of any question to beat him! I did find the trip a bit expensive but we had a nice day.
Enjoyable and informative tour for LOTR fans. After starting the tour with a trip up to Mt Victoria lookout spot, tour takes in Outer Shire, River Anduin, Rivendell and Isengard. Lunch was pretty good, with many choices. The tour minibus was comfortable, and tour guide (Sam) was friendly and knowledgable.
Meeting point i-Site is near a bus stop under the overhead bridge. we get to visit many LOTR filming locations, and the guide shared with us many interesting stories about the movie filming. Lunch was at a nice restaurant by the seaside! We were given a canned drink and muffin towards the end of the tour which was a nice gesture. Tour may overrun depending on the traffic, and if your group mates were taking too long to take photos like ours
Lovely, polite and knowledgeable guide/driver we had. They came late to pick us passed the meetup time due to traffic conditions and we were left worried that our tour booking was not captured/missed, ended up calling Klook who took time to check as well. By the time we were contacted by Klook again, we were already on the van. Some communications with the tour operator/klook would be appreciated in advance next time...
This is an absolute trip everyone should attend. The tour guy, Grant, was very friendly and 100% full of knowlegge of the scenes. We were surprised about how Weta workshop has been working and what they had achieved in film products and computer special effects. We do recommend people to join this trip.
