Colour Resonance: The Visual Language of Ceramics | Exhibition Introduction

Colour Resonance: The Visual Language of Ceramics

Ceramic art has long served as a bridge connecting the past, present, and future. With the opening of "Colour Resonance: The Visual Language of Ceramics," we reflect on the achievements and explorations of our six-year journey with excitement and gratitude. This exhibition will run from October 8 to November 2, 2024, and we invite you to experience the allure of ceramic art.

Featuring four renowned ceramic artists—Lee Jong Min, Ogata Kamio, Kunihiro Akinaga, and Satoshi Kino—this exhibition highlights the diversity and depth of ceramics as a medium of expression.

Lee Jong Min is celebrated for his exquisite white porcelain works that skillfully capture the interplay of light and shadow. Drawing inspiration from nature, his pieces reflect a long-standing observation. Each meticulously carved detail showcases his dedication and artistry, inviting viewers to experience a sense of natural fluidity.

Ogata Kamio presents three exclusive pieces under the theme "Dizziness." His masterful "Neriage" technique transforms sculpture into floating planes, appearing as paintings from a distance and revealing dynamic forms up close. His works challenge visual perception, offering a unique experience of disorientation and reorientation.

Satoshi Kino focuses on celadon, known for its distinctive colours and textures. His pieces blend traditional craftsmanship with modern design, infusing each work with vibrancy. Satoshi's creations invite viewers to explore the subtle interplay of colour, form, and light.

Kunihiro Akinaga, a distinguished ceramic artist with numerous accolades, presents his "Ceramic Skeletons," which evoke ancient fossils, symbolising the essence of life and the immortality of spirit. His meticulous deconstruction of shapes and expert glazing techniques highlight both dynamism and mechanical quality, while his use of pure black emphasises materiality, eschewing unnecessary ornamentation.

This exhibition not only celebrates the sixth anniversary of TOUCH but also envisions a vibrant future for ceramic art. We hope these remarkable works ignite your passion and inspire creativity and dialogue.
