CIC-ZCP “Embracing the Bamboo” Outdoor Art Exhibition Introduction

Bamboo can be seen everywhere in our daily life. In order to let the public appreciate the beauty of bamboo from an artistic perspective and to gain a deeper understanding of bamboo, CIC-ZCP is holding a 3-month outdoor art exhibition - "Embracing the Bamboo" from now on. The exhibition combines bamboo artisans of different age groups to show the heritage and innovation of bamboo art techniques.

There are 5 sets of bamboo artworks on display, including Bamboo Guitar created by folk artist Master NG; Bamboo Lights Tree created by Mr. KAN Kwong-wing, who is the Chief Technical Officer of Bamboo Generations; a bamboo art installation “THE POT: A SIP-ability Design for HK Household” designed by 4 graduate students from BA Programme in Product Design in Hong Kong Polytechnic University - Joyce CHONG Nga-ching, Angel LEE Wing-ki, Alice LUI Mei-yee and Bob SEE Jun-hong; 6 bamboo artworks designed by Inkgo LAM Ka-yu, a contemporary artist specialized in making bamboo in HK; and special bamboo chairs created by Bamboo International (Group) Co. Ltd..

The exhibition aims to bring the public into the world of bamboo art, to appreciate the persistence of traditional craftsmanship, and to see the infinite possibilities and creativity of bamboo.
