Chorus in Concert
Since its inception in 2018, the Chorus in Concert series has evolved into a celebration of the SLO Adult Chorus as a community of talented individuals who are equally passionate in expressing themselves through duets and arias, as they are with our regular repertoire of chorus ensembles. In continuation of this tradition, we are presenting another season worth of operas arias, duets and ensembles' works; as we continue to bring people to music, and music to people. Sung in English, German, French and Italian.
Featuring the SLO chorus, conducted by Chorus Master Terrence Toh, accompanied on the piano by Dale Huang.

Semi-staged Double Bill: Mascagni’s Cavalleria Rusticana and Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci
As part of this year's semi-staged opera, Singapore Lyric Opera presents the perfect pairing of opera tragedies, Mascagni's Cavalleria Rusticana and Leoncavallo's Pagliacci (also known as Cav & Pag). Cav tells a story of love, betrayal, and revenge in Sicily. Pag tells a dramatic story of infidelity, jealousy, and revenge. The themes of love triangles, domestic violence, adultery, and murder, so intensely portrayed in these operas, also appear in contemporary news headlines.

The Singapore Lyric Opera (SLO) is the flagship company of western opera in Singapore. As the longest established in this sector of the arts, we engage renowned international and local performers and musicians under our repertoire. We aim to promote and present Western operas and concerts not frequently performed in Asia-Pacific for communities from all walks of life in Singapore.
The SLO Adult Chorus is a leading chorus in Singapore under the direction of Chorus Master Terrence Toh. Since its establishment in 1990 and its first appearance in SLO’s inaugural production Die Zauberflöte in 1991, the chorus has actively performed in the company’s productions, concerts, engagement and outreach programmes. In 2018 the chorus stated their first chorus concert, showcasing the culmination of years of experience of the choral members; performing opera chorus masterpieces by Verdi, Puccini, Mozart, Rossini, Donezitti, Gounod, Mascagni, and many more. As volunteer singers, our passionate Chorus members commit to understudy and playing roles in our performances.
