I had an amazing experience with Kyoto Kimono Rental. I wasn’t on time for my schedule because our gps brought us to the wrong place, yet when I finally got there, they were very understanding and accommodating. I love how the stylists was very proficient in what she does. My photographer husband and I loved how the photos came out.

There were lots of options of kimono to choose from with different season styles, fabric and colors. The dresses looked very new and clean. There were also lots of different accessories from hair pins to bags. Staffs were super friendly and have many ideas on helping you choose the best options for your kimono if you need help. They are also multilingual which was amazing, we communicated with no problem. The kimono was quite big at first but the staff manage to fit it perfectly on me and it did not budge at all when I was out all day. I was worried of the hairstyle that I chose since my hair is not quite long but she managed to tie it perfectly and it stayed all day long even after I took off the kimono. You do have to pay an additional to hair and makeup but it’s totally worth to consider about it. i was sceptical about the options I chose cause it didn’t seem to go together but it turn out amazing. Highly recommend this place if your looking forward to try kimono!

That was absolutely amazing! You need to be patient and take more time than you expected - but it’s worth it! I did makeup, kimono rent and hair style - then I had AMAZING photo session!! I will highly recommend it 🥹💙

The place is small, its placed at the 2nd floor of the building. Thought the staff is nice and very handy. They work smooth and quickly. If you book the cheapest price there will very limited option but evrything is worth it. Just make sure you also book for hair styling . You can wear the kimono around kyoto all day till 5pm before they close. Feel pretty and blend with the vibes of Kyoto

Book and pay on Klook, saving time to negotiate or bargain with the store clerk. You can directly choose clothes, headwear, bags, etc. on the day. The clothes in this kimono shop are all new. Our experience includes hair style, which feels very good.

cheaper to buy in klook as it cost 3000 yen for basic package in all shops there. I did not do any top up but really limited choices (less than 20 to 30 pieces) of basic kimono and most the color a bit too over.

I forgot the name of the lady who assisted me, but she was super friendly and spoke Japanese, English, and Vietnamese fluently. Super helpful! I had fun choosing from the basic kimono and yukata rack (included in the package). The selection was a bit limited, but if you have extra budget, you can upgrade to more premium designs starting at around ¥2,500. And those options were really gorgeous. She helped us mix and match belts and even offered additional accessories if we wanted to add more flair. The hairstyling was also impressive. Fast but really well done! They were efficient and knew exactly what would suit each person. There were lots of bag and slipper options too, and they provide free socks. Tip: Bring your own comfy shoes or slippers if you plan to walk around after the shoot. Those traditional sandals aren’t made for long strolls 😅
