Things to do in Zagreb

On February 20, 2026, I joined a small group tour from Zagreb to Plitvice Lakes National Park. The driver and guide picked us up promptly at our Sheraton hotel in the morning. Since it wasn't peak season, our small group consisted only of my son and me, along with another father and son from Thailand. The guide was very friendly and responsible, providing detailed explanations while also giving us time and space to explore the beautiful Plitvice Lakes at our own pace. It suddenly started snowing today at Plitvice Lakes ❄️, which added a unique charm 🥰. I highly recommend this Klook tour and the enthusiastic guide (please see photos). This tour offers great value for money. I decided to purchase it at the last minute the night before, as I found it wasn't much more expensive than taking the bus round trip, but it was incredibly worthwhile! It was almost like a private car tour, and it included park admission and boat tickets. I genuinely recommend it! 👍

I highly recommend this tour if you love being in nature. Plitvice National Park is huge and though we only covered just a portion of it, it still required quite a bit of walking, about 8 to 9km, so wear comfortable shoes and bring hiking sticks if you need them. Our guide walked with us the whole way and waited for everyone a check points before proceeding. He was very informative too. Rastoke was a lovely first stop, a small village with waterfalls and windmills leading up to the grandeur of the national park.

A very good guide Marin explained a lot on the history and answered a lot of our questions! Perfect weather and enjoyed the whole day, a bit rush though for the trip.

decided to take the tour last minute rather than driving on our own, and it turned out to be a great decision. it saved money and time, and more importantly with our guide Bojan, we were able to understand the culture a bit more rather than just wandering the city. He even adjusted the itinerary so that there’s a better chance of nicer weather at Lake Bled, which happened. I would totally join another tour with Bojan!

Our guide and driver were very professional and friendly, providing detailed information about the history and culture along the way. They safely transported us to each attraction, allowing plenty of free time to explore. Entrance fees for the castle and the boat ride on Lake Bled were extra, and participation was optional. The guide also offered other suggestions, such as hiking around the lake or enjoying delicious local cake by the lakeside. The eight-seater van was very comfortable, and the itinerary was well-planned, without feeling rushed.

We had a lovely day on the Elaphite Islands tour. The pick-up was perfectly on time and everything was explained clearly before we set off, which made it easy and stress-free. Each of the islands – Koločep, Lopud, and Šipan – were beautiful and well worth visiting. The boat was comfortable, and the pace of the trip gave us plenty of time to explore. Lunch was tasty and nicely prepared, adding to the experience. Overall, it was a very enjoyable and well-organised trip, and I’d happily recommend it to anyone visiting Dubrovnik.
