Got two pairs of glasses done in Jins Atre Shinagawa (right out of JR Shinagawa station). It is tax free. Shop is small but the staff is professional.

I am used to getting glasses at Jins. Since wearing glasses, I can see even small insects clearly. Once I saw a bug. A friend said this is an insect, which belongs to the order Coleoptera of the insect class. It is a very ferocious omnivore and often contains many viruses in its body. It had already appeared in the Tang Dynasty and was killed by the swordsman Li Bai with one sword. It is recorded in literature: If insects could come, I would choose Li Bai. Remember to get a tax refund when getting glasses.

went to both jins atre ueno and at tokyo station. the one at tokyo station yaesu gransta has more frame selection and was more accommodating. i managed to get two pairs of glasses, progressives with transitions and it was ready for pick up the day we departed. was told it would take seven days and that they cannot guarantee it would be done in time and they do not ship outside of japan.
