JR Tohoku-South Hokkaido Rail Pass

The "Free Hong Kong Mail" for the voucher was delivered by SF Express. I placed the order today (Monday) and received it the next day (Tuesday), which is extremely efficient. The last time I visited Hokkaido via Sapporo Airport, I deliberately skipped Hakodate because taking the Hokkaido Shinkansen from Shin-Aomori Station to Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto Station, then transferring to the JR Hakodate Main Line to Hakodate Station, only takes about 1.5 hours. This is much more convenient than the over 3.5-hour journey from Sapporo to Hakodate. For a relaxed trip for middle-aged travelers, the route Sendai - Aomori - Hakodate - Hachinohe - Sendai, using a JR Pass to reserve seats for free at the designated seat ticket machines, allows you to enjoy leisurely times and various delicious foods. It's very cost-effective and worthwhile.

This pass allows you to travel quickly to tourist spots in southern Hokkaido such as Sapporo, Hakodate, and other important places, as well as to the northern part of Honshu such as Aomori, Morioka, Akita, and Sendai to see all the stations. It's really great!

I bought this 6-day Tohoku-South Hokkaido Rail Pass to explore Hokkaido, and it paid for itself with just the round trip from Tokyo to Hakodate, so it's very useful. However, be aware that this pass offers different benefits compared to the 5-day JR East Pass; this 6-day pass doesn't include JR buses. As a result, we had to pay extra for the highway buses from Morioka to Miyako and from Kuji to Ninohe, which wasn't cheap.

If you want to reserve train tickets, you can also go to the JR website to reserve train times in advance. You can process everything together at the "Midori-no-madoguchi" (JR Ticket Office). I was able to use it for my entire trip from Akita, Kakunodate, Morioka, Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto, Hakodate, Aomori, Sendai, Tokyo, and finally back to Sendai for my trip to Sendai Airport. It's simply great value for the money. I will definitely buy it again.

It is a pass for traveling in the Tohoku area up to Sapporo. It allows unlimited rides on the Shinkansen and can also be used on the Joyful Train.
