It was a great experience! I love to see the rich culture and traditions of Fiji highly recommended! just on the food it was okay but everything else was fantastic!
everyone was so nice and always ready to help! the show was amazing! just be ready possibly carry your kids back to the hotel as it is a late night. we did not get back to the hotel till 11/11:30ish. very cool to see lovo food being made and the fire and cultural dancing was fantastic!
this was a beautiful cultural show of fire dancers and hula. these people are truly talented and the food was amazing also. only thing to keep in mind- it is a super long evening. pick up is around 3:30 with many stops along the way to pick up others. ride to boat transfer is 1.5 hours and then about 30 minutes to the island. you will get back to hotel around 11-12. otherwise a great evening but just know what is instore.
picked up around 3 pm something then took coach to the jetty and arrived at 5pm. then further transit by a boat around 45 mins and finally arrived the Robinson island. the show was good, staff were friendly. food can stuffed your tummy. but quite late for kids as we back to hotel it’s 1045 pm.
The sunset dinner at Robinson Crusoe Island was the only itinerary we arranged on this trip. From here, we felt the special personality of Fiji, because they were so casual that they forgot to pick us up at the hotel, haha! We were on the Tuva River We boarded a flat-bottomed cruise ship and enjoyed the scenery on both sides of the river as the sun set. Suddenly our style changed dramatically as we drove. The boat just left the river and headed to the open sea. Fortunately, the captain was very skilled and there were no bumps in the waves. Facing the sunset, we headed a long way in the distance. Driving past the silhouette of coconut trees, today’s destination is Robinson Crusoe Island. There is no pier. The boat parked directly on the beach. A band played and sang a welcome song on the shore. We stepped on the sea and walked to the beach. We looked back at the sunset. It was so beautiful. Immediately, a bunch of people started posing for photos. The evening programs followed one after another. One, everyone moved casually along the beach, watching the earth oven being unearthed (our dinner), the warriors walking on the charcoal fire, the beach bonfire at the back was lit, and the passionate Fijian chorus sounded next to them, capturing the last moment of the sunset. After dinner, there was a series of Pacific dance performances. The male dancers were all strong men with abdominal muscles. I won’t describe the female dancers. The most exciting thing was probably the fire dance and the large fire show on the beach. When the show ended, we sat down. The boat sailed to the main island. The captain was very good and could find the channel in the dark. We also saw flying fish during the voyage. It was a very interesting experience.
👍🏻: - The dancing and fire show was the best compared to other few i watched. - Staff was nice. Toilet was clean. 👎🏻: - The journey was quite long for us (1.5hr in shuttle bus+30min boat ride). 3 hrs was spent on transport for this 3.5hr tour. - Food was tasteless.
it was a good experience as we can witness “lovo” the Fijian underground cooking style. the dance and performance last almost 1.5 hrs. foods were ok, generally Fijian foods are bland so we are ok with it.
Bula 🌺 So warm and enthusiastic! What a fun night. First time trying Kava and a different kind of fireworks display. Highly recommended.
Bula! Unique experience into Fijian culture and food. 1 hour bus ride and 30 min boat ride to get to the venue but it's worth it.
The food wasn't very tasty, but the songs and fire show were nice, and there were lots of mangroves on the boat, and they were singing a welcome song when we arrived, which was a lot of fun. Some people were on their honeymoon and some were celebrating their birthdays.
