My only impression is that of the big Asia brewery company, didn’t know there are small or so called microbrewery setup in Singapore and in fact it has grown to about 15 of them .1925 brewery is one of them, the driver of the business comes the passion of the family members wanting to get family together with good beers coupled with good Teochew cuisine. It is quite educational to visit their brewery premises and understand how beers are brewed and flavoured. Interestingly on that day, they had “Mao San Wang” beer already brewed and we get to try it. If are durian lover you will love it. Their Teochew cuisine restaurant is located at Joo Chiat Road , the Sa Cha fried rice and the duck breast are great. Our tour guide is a great joker, very cheerful and responsible . He ensures we are well fed at the restaurant before he left us alone. Too bad , the restaurant never give him food to eat😜. Overall, it is quite a pleasant experience..
An awesome tour not to be missed in choosing Singapore Rediscovery sightseeing. EK the founder of 1925 brewery is a talent and creative in making different types of beer. The tour guide, Pacer from Siam Travel Tour explained thoroughly the history of 1925 and its legacy.
Great experience, good tour guide with good knowledge of beers and breweries. I've also enjoyed the tour led by the founders of 1925, the experience was good and had really good food to end off with. Highly recommended 👍🏽
The meeting place was easy to find and the tour started promptly. I’m not a beer drinker but I liked the taste, especially the lychee lager. Tour was informative and interesting. The food was the best!
Interesting tour in a local microbrewery. Had the opportunity to learn the process of beer making and taste some unique beer infused with local flavours such as musang king and chrysanthemum. Ended off the tour in a contemporary teochew restaurant. Nice food, warm service and cosy atmosphere. As a fellow teochew, I feel proud that the brewery and restaurant is trying to pass down the culture with a modern twist. Highly recommended!
Excellent trip ... Tour Guide Pacer and EK of 1925 Microbrewery ... a truly Singapore craft beer ... end with a chill out at Joo Chiat with more beer and Teochew dishes ...
Highly recommend this tour if you love to drink and would like to know more about the process of making beers! The guide shared a lot about their family stories which were heart-warming:) We also got to try some of their locally produced beers. They also have many interesting flavours like mao Shan Wang, Liang teh and kaya toast which we can try for some and for those that we cannot try we could purchase at wholesale price there!
Tour Guide (Corliss) was attentive and provided interesting information during our journey. The Brewery itself wasn't fanciful as it was a small scale business but it had all the necessary equipment needed to make great tasting beer! The history of the beers, how they were made were all explained clearly by the staff at 1925, we managed to try 2 of their core beers during our stay at the brewery and purchased some of the other beers home as well! Corliss wasn't able to join us at the Eatery due to Covid Restriction but she made sure we felt safe and comfortable by giving us directions on how to return home from Joo Chiat for those who lived further away from this part of Singapore. The Teochew dishes provided was fantastic, especially the Teochew braised duck, so tender and soft! Each of the tour participants were given 2 half pints of beer as well so we managed to try most of their core beers and was overall satisfied/full by the end of the tour. Hopefully people can show more interest in craft-beer and help our local craft beer community grow and expand!
Interesting grandfather stories shared. Welcome drinks right at the start. Nice cold beer to quench very thirsty guests who gulped the first round in no time. Top up was given spontaneously. They were generous to make sure everyone was "happy". Sampling fresh beer straight from the tank was bliss. Of course this also made for happy shoppers at the end of the brewery tour. The company was pleasant, the tour guide was entertaining and the food was yummy.
Can feel the passion of this brewery owner while he explaining to us the process of beer brewing. Beers are pleasant especially with the one freshly out from the large container. The fish porridge and stew duck are tasty and unconventional. Few people in the restaurant. We get to taste the beer in comfort and enjoying every mouthful of sweetness. Good experience 🤗
