Tour guide: but is a very good tour guide. Along the way, he introduced us to many, many plants, picked spices for us to smell, and wild fruits for us to taste. He understood when we needed to rest, and although the whole trip was very long, I didn't feel tired. He made very exquisite bamboo cups for us and engraved our names on them in Thai. Hiking difficulty: It is a slightly challenging route. The rainforest is slippery, and some places are very steep. If you have done regular exercise before, such as fitness, running, dancing, or playing ball, then it will be a lot of fun for you. Scenery: Very beautiful Equipment provided: The guide provides us with water and bamboo sticks
We will keep a beautiful memory of this day of excursion. It was certainly sporty but the landscapes were worth it. And the guide took great care of us. We were treated to an excellent meal of several varied and tasty dishes on a terrace with a breathtaking view, a walk between the jungle, the bamboo forest, the waterfalls, a foot bath in the hot springs (large baths currently closed) and a souvenir gift that the guide carved in the bamboo the same day. Thank you Klook for this unforgettable experience and the friendliness of the people we met.
"I recently embarked on an unforgettable trekking tour in Chiang Rai, and I couldn't recommend it more! The scenery was breathtakingly beautiful, with lush green forests, rolling hills, and stunning vistas. What made this tour truly special, however, was the wealth of knowledge our guide shared with us about the local flora and fauna. We learned about the unique properties of various trees and plants, and even spotted some incredible wildlife along the way. The lunch break was a highlight, with a delicious meal served atop a scenic hill overlooking the surrounding countryside. And after working up a sweat, a refreshing swim in the nearby waterfall was the perfect way to cool off. I also appreciated the well-placed pitstops for drinks along the way, which ensured we stayed hydrated and energized throughout the trek. But what really made this tour stand out was the thoughtful touch of our guide, who took the time to craft beautiful bamboo cups and rings for us as souvenirs. It was a lovely gesture that added a personal touch to an already incredible experience. Overall, I highly recommend this trekking tour in Chiang Rai to anyone looking for a unique and enriching adventure. With its stunning scenery, knowledgeable guides, and thoughtful touches, it's an experience you won't soon forget!" 5/5 stars
This is a course that involves trekking all day. The trekking course was more diverse than I expected, and the view was great. The forest path felt like a jungle, and the tea fields that I saw while walking along the ridge, and the Lisu Aka Lahu village that I stopped by during the course were also fun. The Lahu village was especially full of energy and excitement. Lunch time was also impressive, but after shopping in the morning and going up, the guide and the villagers cooked for me, and it was really delicious. The guide was also very kind, and it was an unforgettable memory. This course is quite difficult, so it is recommended for those who enjoy trekking. Long pants, a long shirt, and comfortable shoes are essential^^
My guide was really nice - quite lucky and VERY knowledgeable. He introduced the functions of plants in the wild, carved bamboos and explained the tribes' lives very well. Highly recommend for people who are looking into cultural tourism and outdoor activities. Dont think hiking experience is required but will like to preface that you need a good sense of balance, know where to step and ALWAYS be alert. As a dancer who has some hiking experience, I think the difficulty is at a good 4/5 as some terrains are slippery AND steep. Knee problem people ... I think you should pass. You'll also see what mother nature is at its true form and learn to appreciate the things you have. Happiness and contentment can be easily attained - the tribal people here taught me that.
It wasn’t planned but the staff were very helpful. I did enjoy the trekking, if you come on a rainy season— it might be fun but slippery, The long hours of walk through the jungle was indeed a good cardio! James and Moo were superb! great job guys!
This was the highlight of of time in north Thailand. Great trekking tour made even better by our guide But. His knowledge is great and made the day very enjoyable. Lunch was great with a number of different dishes cooked to try.
Joined this trip with two other tourists, one from Spain and one from Poland, and they are friendly. The guide is very friendly too and very patient to us when we have questions. The trek is NOT for the fainthearted and there are many slippery slopes along the way. Please don’t be like me—I only slippers all throughout. Overall, worth it!
It's a fulfilling trekking tour to visit the different tribe villages and visiting their home. The grandma made tea for us and we sat at the "balcony" area. The trekking tour would need a certain level of fitness as there are many ups and downs the slops, some could be steep so prepared to use all limbs. The guide can get you a bamboo walking stick. It's dry season in Dec/Jan, so it's the best time to go for trekking. We had a group of 5 pax, which was a good size and we had 2 tour mates in their 60s but managed to complete the journey. When in trekking tour, it's important to lookout for each other. We have our guides, But (Senior guide) & Att (trainee guide). They are really friendly, nice and helpful throughout the trip. Not forgetting the driver too who is also our chef. We had homecooked meal & it was so good. The pitstop at the waterfall was nice to rest for a while. Our guide made the coolest thing out of a bamboo was a selfie stick. The reward for completing the tour was a bamboo cup made by our guides, hand carved our name in Thai on the cup. He also use bamboo strip to weave a ring for each of us. The hot spring was not in operation during our visit, could only soak the feet by the side which is free.
Very happy we pick this Jungle Trek. Was a bit worried because I am not the fittest but happy to say neither were I the unfittest on the tour - 7 of us with 5 staff. The Guides were very good at making sure everyone was keeping up, without making anyone feel bad. I would suggest a bit of a fitness level - it is pretty steep in places, track not a walk in the park. Any hotter would have been hard too. None of us got bitten by mosquitoes but we all sprayed a lot of insects repellent. The food at a local house was very nice - they prepared everything fresh for us. There was the option of sitting in the hot spring/bath at the end, but after a very long hot walk no one wanted to do this and we all had cold beers/drinks instead at the local bar. Will definitely recommend this tour - just keep an eye on the heat.
