Reviews
Guide
- The largest innovative natural museum in southern China, a region-wide and panoramic public education center for natural history, and a case study exhibition platform for Chinese modernization in ecological civilization
- The museum consists of five conical structures, inspired by a "river delta." Its streamlined exterior blends seamlessly with the surrounding landscape of mountains and water. The facade replicates the texture of coastal marine erosion cliffs, echoing the design concept of "growing from nature"
- Breaking away from traditional walls, the venue features a rooftop walkway over 600 meters in total length, extending the exhibition halls from indoors to outdoors, connecting Swallow Ridge Park and the Chi'ao Wetland Study Trail to form a three-dimensional, region-wide natural history system
- The museum houses eight major thematic permanent exhibition halls: Cosmos, Earth, Evolution, Dinosaurs, Humans, Biology, Ecology, and Homeland, constructing a complete narrative chain from "cosmos to homeland." The entire museum exhibits 7,461 genuine specimens, 338 replica models, and 194 exhibits
- [Collection Highlights]:
- Chinese Imprint: Archaefructus, Iguanodon, Anchiornis, Ichthyosaur, and Cretaceous dinosaur fossil groups from the Guangdong-Jiangxi region, etc.
- Local Archives: The Homeland Hall displays over 1,600 local Shenzhen specimens, covering Shenzhen Bay migratory birds, Wutong Mountain native plants, and Dapeng Bay marine life, serving as the city's most authentic natural archive
