Kyoto: Hidden Temple Morning Experience at Tokujomyoin Temple

A rare opportunity to enter the main hall of Tokujomyoin Temple, a hidden temple in Kyoto’s historic Higashiyama district that is normally closed to the public. To preserve the peaceful atmosphere, participation is limited to a small number of guests.

Your experience begins with a meditation session designed to calm the mind and help you slow down. Depending on the plan you choose, you will then enjoy either a traditional Buddhist vegetarian meal (Shojin Ryori) or a light temple breakfast. Next, take part in the temple’s unique Okaidan Meguri, a traditional darkness walk through a completely unlit corridor, guided only by your sense of touch. The experience concludes with a bowl of matcha tea in a tranquil setting.
