Reviews
Strongly recommend this one day local tour for Puglia and I was very satisfied with our guide, Francesco and the schedule for Matera, Albero Bello and Polignano A Mare.
Our Trip Turned into a Nightmare My companion and I (two people) booked a one-day tour through Klook on June 8th to visit Matera, Alberobello, and Polignano a Mare from Bari, Italy. The tour operator was Acd srl (Veditalia). The departure time was scheduled for 8:30 AM, so we scouted the meeting point on the evening of the 7th. On the day of the tour, June 8th, we arrived at the location around 8:05 AM. There were already three tour buses waiting, and although we showed our QR code for verification, none of them belonged to the company we booked with. We wondered if there might be another bus nearby and searched the vicinity for nearly an hour, but found no other buses. The three buses departed, and two more arrived, picking up passengers, but still, our booked bus was nowhere to be seen. We continued to frantically search for our bus for almost an hour, but it never appeared. With the scheduled departure time long past and it being well after 9:00 AM, we approached a staff member from the last remaining bus and asked if there was any space for us. The staff member, who had seen us running around and trying to help, fortunately confirmed there were seats available and accepted us. Unfortunately, that bus was going to Monopoli, not Matera, but we had no other option. We paid 130 euros and joined a tour that wasn't on our original schedule. In fact, we had flown from Sicily on Ryanair and stayed in Bari for two days specifically for this one-day tour on the 8th. Our schedule for the 9th was to go to Rome, so if we missed the tour on the 8th, it would have meant a significant loss of time and money. At the time, we felt utterly devastated, but we are somewhat relieved that we were able to take a different tour with another company. Ultimately, we now believe Matera has become a difficult place for us to visit. Klook must take strong measures to prevent other customers from experiencing similar issues and should provide a full refund along with compensation for the damages incurred.
