I highly recommend visiting these ruins during the winter cherry blossom season (February) to make them truly special. Otherwise, the ruins are just ruins. While I still greatly admire the wall-building techniques from 500-600 years ago, the pink cherry blossoms add much more appeal. Additionally, bamboo and wooden sticks are provided at the entrance for seniors to use as walking aids. Admission is free for elementary school students and younger. Klook states that there's a fee for 12-18 year olds, but that refers to middle school student tickets. I didn't realize this and mistakenly bought a ticket for my sixth-grade son who just turned 12, which I regret. I hope everyone pays attention to this.
Breath-taking scenery! The air was so fresh and the recovery works are still ongoing. Recommend to come and see the views by your ow eyes.
The site isn't huge but it's a good size for some walking around and exploring. It's really cool to imagine the original grandeur and what took place there. Would recommend a short visit if you have time.
Buy it now, use it now, super convenient. Tickets purchased on site are 1000 yuan, but Klook's 800 exchange rate, sold at group ticket prices is awesome. But for some reason, mine wasn't a QR code, so I and the staff were confused for a few minutes, but it was still sorted out.
The city is bigger than I imagined, very much like a movie or game scene. The combination of stones and grass is beautiful. There were some vendors during the cherry blossom season, but unfortunately, the blossoms were only about 80% in bloom. The free parking and shuttle bus are great! The shuttle bus runs quite frequently.
I came here on the Ryukyu Regular Sightseeing Bus to see the cherry blossoms at the beginning of the year in Japan, and although they were not in full bloom yet, they were still very beautiful. Being able to step into the ancient castle and learn about the history of Nakijin Castle (and being so close to the cultural artifacts) made me feel that this trip was worthwhile!
Visited Nakijin Castle on 115.02.14, the cherry blossoms were in full bloom, making for beautiful photos, and the ocean view was also stunning. I recommend arriving early for even better photo opportunities!
love this place, really peaceful and have monkey show. Very good deal from Klook.

Guide

Nakijin Castle Ruins" located in the northern part of Okinawa’s Motobu Peninsula is a historic site that is counted as one of the World Heritage Sites “Gusuku Sites and Related Properties of the Kingdom of Ryukyu”. The total area is about 79,000 square meters. A spot where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of a World Heritage site, such as the beautiful curving wall called “Osumi Castle Wall”, the “Kaku” that forms the castle, and the main gate “Heiromon”. Not only can you see the Nakijin Castle Ruins, but you can also learn about its historical background. In addition, the area around the castle ruins is dotted with old roads and historical sites that you can walk around. If you have time, please visit the old road called “Hanta-michi”, the old Nakijin village ruins, and the ruins of the mansion of a goddess (Noro). In addition, the cherry blossoms that bloom the earliest in Japan, “Kanhizakura” are also a highlight. January to early February is especially recommended when there are 620 cherry blossom trees inside and outside the castle.
