What to expect
Song Art Tea Space carefully selects top-quality teas from six major categories and seasonal specialties, creating a distinctive experience of “choosing tea by painting and appreciating art with tea.” Signature Tea: Handcrafted by intangible cultural heritage tea masters, the tea soup is as clear as Xuan paper, with a sweet aftertaste like ink fragrance, paired with tea art performances presented by tea masters on site, showcasing the elegance of the Orient. Tea Pairing: Drawing on the essence of Green Wave Gallery dim sum, traditional tea snacks such as sesame crisp and mung bean cake are made into calligraphy and painting patterns. Each tea snack is accompanied by a card that interprets its artistic connection with the corresponding painting. Ritual Detail: Following the concept of “tea seat is a painting,” the tea master matches tea sets according to the theme of the day’s exhibition - using celadon tea sets when appreciating landscape paintings, and purple clay utensils when tasting flower and bird sketches. The craftsmanship of the tea sets will also be explained during the session, making tea tasting a “multi-dimensional art experience.”
Acrylic Painting Experience: At Song Art Tea Space, the acrylic painting experience is not just a simple painting course, but a life aesthetics practice of “tea soup moisturizing the heart and color expressing feelings.” Permanent Exhibition: The main exhibition area updates the theme painting exhibition every month, covering Shanghai-style calligraphy and painting, contemporary ink painting, intangible cultural heritage handicrafts and other categories. The recently exhibited “Yuyuan Cultural Context Special Exhibition” features precious works by old artists inherited from the original Yuyuan Gallery. Interactive Session: “Artist Tea Parties” are held from time to time, where creators come to the site and explain the conception of the paintings at the tea table.
