If I hadn't booked the Narita Express, it would have been very difficult given the distance from the airport to my destinations (Tokyo Station, Shinjuku). 😀 If you're booking, it's a good idea to research online beforehand how to select your seat on the day of use after purchasing a round-trip ticket. A helpful tip if you miss your train: for the Narita Express, there are usually plenty of seats, so you can just board the next train and sit in an empty seat. If you have a reserved seat, you can simply move to another available seat! (I didn't want to find this out, but I missed my reserved train on the last day and learned this when the ticket checker on the train kindly pointed out an empty seat, allowing me to happily finish my trip! 👍)
The whole process was very fqst qnd efficient. Getting thr tickets at the machine was pretty straight forward, but we needed a but of help from the staff in order to figure out how to reserve our seat, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The train had plenty of luggage space for larger suitcases, and well as overhead shelves for carry on. It only took just under an hour to get from Narita Airport to Tokyo station. we booked a return ticket, and they issued both upon first collection, so make sure to keep your return ticket safely.
I use the Narita Express every time I take a free trip to Tokyo. It is convenient because you can travel to Shinjuku and Yokohama, and you can arrive at the airport on time. I'm glad that this round-trip ticket allows you to freely specify the time within 2 weeks from the date of issue. However, you must reserve a reserved seat at the vending machine before boarding. At Narita Airport, the ticket vending machines are located on the 1st basement floor of the airport, inside the Skyliner boarding area, along with the Shinkansen vending machines. At Tokyo Station, they are located in the tourist information center near the west Marunouchi Exit, so you need to find them well.
For my trip to Tokyo, I bought a round-trip Narita Express (N'EX) ticket, and it was incredibly convenient. I purchased it on the Klook website, and it was ready to use immediately. Plus, I didn't have to worry about traffic. I'll definitely buy it again next time!
very easy to pick up tickets from the station - just scan the qr code. reservations can be made the same counter.
Although the ticketing machine image in the details was slightly different from the actual machine, it wasn't difficult to use. After you insert the ticket you initially reserved to re-book your time and assigned seat, the reservation time and seat are additionally printed on that ticket. The interior is pleasant and clean. The distance between seats and the aisles are spacious.
Buying online, paying electronically, and using it instantly is very convenient. The price can also be deducted with Klook dollars, and there are discounts on the payment platform, making it cheaper than buying directly at the station. Exchanging tickets with the QR code is very convenient; all ticket machines at station entrances that sell express tickets can be used for exchange, making the process smooth and quick.
After clearing customs at Narita Airport, head directly to B1. You can use your QR code at the JR green ticket machines to exchange for your tickets and select your seats. It's very convenient, as you can book both your outbound and return train seats at the same time. Travelers who need to make round trips within 14 days can save money by choosing a round-trip ticket.
It's so convenient, and the seats are spacious; you can even store your luggage right next to your seat. Remember to use the ticket machine to select your seat; there's no extra charge, as the seat reservation fee is already included.
I've tried almost all the various transportation options from Narita Airport to downtown Tokyo. I've experienced several methods, including the Airport Limousine Bus, Skyliner, Keisei Electric Railway, and taxis. However, for traveling to Tokyo Station and Yokohama, the N'EX (Narita Express) was the most convenient. If you purchase a round-trip ticket, the N'EX offers excellent value for money. (However, the one-way fare is quite expensive.) It's less than 50,000 won for adults and around 20,000 won for children! It's great that in Japan, elementary school children often pay half price at aquariums and for various transportation. It's a bit disappointing, though, that after elementary school, they often pay adult fares. The N'EX has a dedicated space for luggage, and the train interior was very comfortable and clean. The seat size was also adequate, so long journeys weren't too uncomfortable. If you're traveling with children, I think using a private limousine for 4 or 6 people, or taking the N'EX, is the most comfortable option. The process of using it wasn't difficult either. You can board directly from the basement of Narita Airport, and the platform was relatively easy to find. However, trains split depending on the destination, so it's necessary to confirm before boarding. Most trains go to Tokyo Station, but after that, some split towards Yokohama or Shinjuku, or only operate as far as Tokyo Station. If you're heading towards Yokohama, you can expect about one train per hour. Additionally, upon arrival, you can use JR trains for transfers without extra cost, which can save you a little more on travel expenses. One minor drawback was the absence of vending machines or snack bars on the train. I was a bit surprised that there wasn't even a drink vending machine. Since there are also very few convenience stores or snack bars inside the ticket gates at Narita Airport Station, I highly recommend buying drinks and snacks in advance before boarding. For your information, there are vending machines near the boarding area. You are free to eat and drink on the train. Enjoy the romance of an Ekiben (station bento)!
