Akasha is originally a Sanskrit word (आलयविज्ञ━न), which means space, "ether" or the original energy of the universe. Space is everywhere and contains many things that we cannot perceive with our naked eyes but do exist, which is what Buddhist philosophy says: emptiness is color and color is emptiness.
The Akashic Records, also known as the "Book of Life", contains the history of the entire universe.
