What to expect
- The large-scale landscape performance "Impression·Liu Sanjie" is directed by famous directors Zhang Yimou, Wang Chaoge and Fan Yue, and planned by national screenwriter Mei Shuaiyuan. It integrates the landscape of Lijiang River, the culture of ethnic minorities in Guangxi and the creation of Chinese elite artists. It is the first "landscape live performance" with a new concept in the country, which has pioneered the precedent of large-scale live performances in China and has become a model for the successful operation of the domestic cultural industry.
- "Impression·Liu Sanjie" is directed by Zhang Yimou, Wang Chaoge and Fan Yue, and planned by Mei Shuaiyuan. It is completed by the four main creators. It inherits the legend of Liu Sanjie, the singing fairy of Guangxi, but is not limited to the story of one person. Instead, it uses the composition and techniques of Chinese traditional painting to integrate real mountains and real waters, combined with the unique rhythm and rhyme of ethnic minority songs, and integrates and presents the natural scenery along the Lijiang River, the life and work of fishermen and villagers, and the folk customs of ethnic minorities through visual effects and artistic arrangement.
- The performance as a whole has no continuous storyline and no accurate lyrics translation. Instead, it is based on Liu Sanjie, and through freehand pictures and well-known folk songs, it represents the customs and customs of Guangxi Zhuang, Yao, Miao, Dong and other ethnic minorities, as well as the various scenes around the Li River.
- Since its premiere in March 2004, "Impression of Liu Sanjie" has been performed for more than 8,000 times, making it a benchmark for live performances in China

It was a very successful trip. An experience that I recommend with all confidence. The guide was very professional, punctual, polite and handled a translation app very well. An unforgettable day.
This show was so hyped that I couldn't miss it. I bought a ticket in advance through the platform. On the appointed day, I received instructions on how to print the ticket at the machine. Everything worked out fine. After passing through all the security perimeters, I got inside. Various entertainments await along the way. Girls in national costumes and with national musical instruments. In front of the theater hall, there will be free hot tea with ginger. The show itself is after sunset, so you need to dress warmly in winter. After taking our seats, the concert began. And the impressions remained mixed. On the one hand, it's large-scale, with lots of lights, music, and dancing, but on the other hand, the impression of scale felt blurred, as if it lacked dynamics, the music sometimes brought you down, and the actors often sang without a microphone. After the Vietnamese light show in Hoi An, this doesn't look so wow anymore, there is no feeling of deep immersion. I repeat, this is my personal impression. And the price through the platform was very different from the price in local agencies.
A very beautiful show. Lots of performers and wonderful lights. A pleasant and different evening in Yangshuo.
Had a very wonderful time watching Impression Liu Sanjie. We were blessed with good weather for the show which takes place outdoors. Recommend going early as some walking is required from the main entrance to the actual performance stage, and there might be traffic jams due to the large crowd. The show was breathtaking with amazing display of lights and dance choreography. The sheer scale of it is impressive. The local tribe people also sing in the show and their songs are incredibly moving. All in all a spectacular show not to be missed in Yangshuo!
The show is great and highly recommended. I would recommend being there an hour beforehand to get your paper tickets from the ticket machine using the QR code and number. Afterwards, you can check out some of the exhibitors before the show. We had B2 seats and could follow everything perfectly.
Must see for anyone visiting Yangshou or Guilin. Once you receive voucher from Klook, then click 'confirmation detail' of your voucher, there will be details written in chinese but you'll see the latin number (usually starting with 188xxxxxx (what we're informed). You need to key in those numbers in order to print your tickets (including seat numbers) at the ticket machine located at the entrance. We booked B1 seats and the location is perfect! We enjoyed the show. PS: bring jackets coz sometimes it gets windy and its an open air perfomance.
