One-day tour of Prince Gong's Mansion, Summer Palace, and Old Summer Palace in Beijing

The most heartwarming experience I had in Beijing was definitely meeting this tour group and our guide, Zhang Yuqing. I have to say, she is truly a wonderful, considerate, and amazing guide. She explained every scenic spot and historical event so well. She's also a genuinely kind person, and I really enjoyed her company. She also recommended many authentic local food spots for us, making the whole trip even more unforgettable. I will strongly recommend her to everyone! I am from Malaysia and I’ll definitely suggest her to all my friends who are planning to visit Beijing. I really wish I could meet her in every trip I join. So if you are going to Beijing, please look for her, you won’t regret it!

There were two different guides. One for Prince Gong’s Mansion and another for the Summer Palace and Old Summer Palace. Both guides were equally knowledgeable and shared plenty historical insights. As this is a combined tour with participants from different booking platforms, the guides were occasionally busy coordinating various requests. It is also important to note the additional costs during the tour (200 RMB) that need to be paid directly to the tour guide.

Huge place. Guides were quite clear. Weather was very hot so it was a good idea to top up for the boat ride and tram.

I think this itinerary is very good. In the morning, the Prince Gong's Mansion was introduced by Miao, and his explanation was very clear. In the afternoon, the Summer Palace and the Old Summer Palace were introduced by Azhi, and his explanation was detailed and energetic. I learned a lot in one day. If my friends come to visit, I will recommend them.

Wang Dao explained everything in great detail. There was an issue with the ticket information at the beginning, but they quickly helped resolve it. The explanations at each stop were very clear. In the end, they even helped arrange a self-funded guided tour of the Bird's Nest Stadium. It was really great value for the price.

tour is in mandarin. morning we went to prince gong mansion, however some hiccups when getting tickets for passport holders kinda delayed our starting time. but the overall tour is still nice. for summer palace and old summer palace, there's some additional fees needed for boat ride and XR van ride. still worth it though, as the day was hot and we definitely couldn't finish exploring the place just by foot. both tour guides for both places are very knowledgeable. we enjoyed the tour very much.

Our guide, Xiao Zhang, provided very detailed and thoughtful explanations. The boat ride in the Summer Palace and the special time-travel bus tour in the Old Summer Palace were both unique and refreshing experiences! 👍 Highly recommend giving it a try.

The tour was great but it didn't cover lots of places in the Summer Palace because it's too big. Since I chose to use the boat ride, I didn't have the chance to walk along the bridge. One disadvantage of following this tour if you are solo is that you will feel the need to follow the majority in choosing whether to use boat ride or tram because if you don't, you may get lost on your own or cannot catch up with the group as even the guide is using boat ride. For Old Summer Palace, the guide was very good as he explained everything which is essential to enjoy the tour of the ruins. Otherwise, you are just looking at piles of ruins in Old Summer Palace.

The tour guide was great, but I wish there was more time for tourists to take pictures.
