For my graduation trip to Japan, I tried on a kimono for the first time, and it was the best money I spent! I looked at many shops and finally chose this one in Arashiyama, and it was such a pleasant surprise 😭 I have absolutely no regrets or complaints. Everything, from the service to the quality of the kimonos, the hairstyles, and the overall experience, was perfect. First, there were so many kimono styles to choose from. I picked a lace one, which was included in the package, and the quality was excellent. It looked very elegant and expensive in photos, and so kawaii! There was a wide variety of hair ornaments and kimono accessories, and the owner even helped me choose styles, which was great for someone like me who has trouble making decisions. The lady who helped me put on the kimono was absolutely wonderful! She heard it was my first time and said she would make sure it was put on perfectly so it wouldn't loosen no matter how much I moved around. She kept asking if it was too tight, ensuring maximum comfort. I wore it all day without any discomfort. I especially want to praise their hairstylist, who is Japanese. Japanese hairstyles really are something special! My hair is a mullet, with varying lengths, but she still managed to create a beautiful updo. It looked gorgeous all day. In short, I will definitely choose this shop again next time! My friend and I chose a blue and a pink one, and they matched perfectly!

I want to thank the MocoMoco team so much. My partner and I had such a lovely experience, we were welcomed straight away upon entering. The store is so convenient as well being right near all the main Arashiyama sights if you want to gets pictures after picking out a kimono. I picked out a beautiful lace kimono and since it was cold I was given a fur shoulder cloak + extra accessories without any extra charge. My hair was done beautifully despite me being very conscious of my hair recently as I've lost a significant amount of my hair before Christmas. The hairstyle done by the staff though looked absolutely stunning though, I felt so confident. We booked a photography package with our kimono hire and Cash our photographer was amazing. He knew exactly where to go to get the best pictures, was quick and efficient, directed us how to pose and was lovely to converse with. I highly recommend this company for Kimono and photography hire, great value for money and love the pictures so much.

The staff were patient and friendly, and they provided instructions in Chinese, or used simple English/gestures which was totally sufficient! The store's location is incredibly convenient! 📍 It's just a few steps away from Arashiyama's shopping street/Tenryu-ji Temple! **After changing into a beautiful Yukata, you can directly and seamlessly start your Arashiyama walk～🚶‍♀️💨 Choosing to wear a Yukata in Arashiyama was such a wise decision! 🍃 Wearing a beautiful Yukata while walking on the small paths of Arashiyama makes you feel like you've become one with the scenery! Togetsukyo Bridge, the Bamboo Forest Path, and the murmuring Hozugawa River... Every step is a picture, and every photo turns out great! The roads around Kiyomizu-dera Temple aren't as easy to walk on, making this a great experience! 📸💖 mocomoco has a wide selection of Yukata designs, with beautiful colors and excellent quality! The staff helped me dress quickly and professionally, and they created a very delicate hairstyle, making me feel like I instantly transformed into a Japanese drama heroine! 👑✨ I even got compliments while walking around, so happy! 😊

I had a good experience here, as someone who speaks english only there wasn’t too much english but staff can communicate enough to help you out and they did an amazing job with my hair and kimono. They were friendly and made me feel comfortable and cared for. The location is convenient as it is nearby many cute and scenic photo spots such as Miffy cafe, Rilakkuma tea house, Kimono and Bamboo forest

we had the BEST experience! highly recommend getting an early appointment to get the best selection of kimono and to beat the crowds for photos! our photographer was the sweetest and made sure we got EVERY good angle. service was very good and the ladies are all gems. i have had kimono reservations before and this one and this one was the best!

Lisa and the ladies at Mocomoco were fantastic! Being from the US, I had no idea on picking a kimono and what the process entailed. Once I selected the kimono I wanted to wear, I was sent upstairs for dressing and hair. everything turned out so nice! Lisa even took photos of my husband and I. Thank you for the excellent customer service. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to wear a kimono for the day!

I have booked this experience months in advance for my husband and I’s honeymoon. Unfortunately, it was raining during the time we went. THANKFULLY, the store owner and photographer still made our experience one to remember, there were many choices for kimonos for women and a smaller section for men! The process was smooth, had to use a translator app to communicate efficiently! The owner made me feel beautiful and was accommodating despite the language barrier! The hairstylist and the person who helped me with my kimono were amazing, they really cinch you in and the hair stylist did my hair nicely! A few options to choose from for styles and lots of accessories to put in your hair! Thank you for a memorable experience, I’d recommend trying them out! My only recommendation would be maybe having instructions in English ready for those who are going through the process to make it run even smoother! ☺️😊

amazing kimono experience, the owner was super nice and welcoming! i had a lot of fun picking out my outfit and accessories and hair. i paid extra for a fancier hairstyle and accessories but it was super worth it. we walked around the entire day from 10-5pm and returned them with no problem too. the owner speaks chinese and japanese, and it was easy to communicate. would recommend!!
