What to expect
There's a whole world out there, lived by people far different than you. Meet a whole tribe of these people in this trekking tour of Lao Chai and Ta Van Village. Visit communities of Vietnam's various ethnic groups and see how they live in peace. Start the tour with a trek to Lao Chai Village, a place made up of several smaller villages. As you go along the tour, you'll meet its predominant members - the H'mong minorities. Up to 100 families of the hill tribe live in the area, along with the other ethnic villagers. Interact with these locals during lunch at a Lao Chai homestay and learn more about their culture. Head next to Ta Van Village, where a much more diverse set of inhabitants live. Watch as they go through their daily routine of farming and animal tending amidst the idyllic nature setting. Marvel at the perfectly preserved culture of each tribe, reflected in their clothing, tradition, and handmade crafts. Appreciate the scenery and make sure to buy a souvenir or two. End the tour with a ride back to your preferred drop off location.

Our guide Cha was great from the start to end She gave us the option of easy route or difficult route and our group opted for the difficult route which offers amazing views and was well worth the effort. Her english was also good and easy to understand. Cha also shared with us about the stories of the locals and how they live here in the villages which is a great learning experience for us. A must go trek if you are into exploring the rice terraces up close and personal not just from afar. There is also lunch provided towards the end of the trekking tour. Just be sure to be in proper trekking gears especially a good pair of trekking shoes for a better experience
Trekking around 11 km from the Sapa City Center to the village. You can see the villagers daily life, souvenir shop, and have local meals for lunch. Suggest to wear the proper shoes/sandals for trekking since it has slippery trek.
This is a MUST DO trek. I have no words to describe the beauty, experience and insights learnt about where the ethnic minorities live. Chinh was our tour guide who was very knowledgeable & made the experience so enjoyable. She was extremely patient, kind & all round brilliant. My husband & I were worried if we would cope with the 9km trek. Our group chose the hard route. The trek is made up of flat roads, muddy pathways with inclines & declines. It was challenging but doable. It was the most memorable experience which we will cherish for a very long time. Thanks Chinh for cheering us on throughout the most amazing trek.
The 8km hike was tough, but rewarding. The view was stunning and picturesque. We hiked through forest and rice paddies to reach the Tra Village village for our lunch. We were glad we'd rented boots to keep our shoes clean.
Despite the endless walk and climb. it was tiring but fun. our guide and other local villages assisted throughout our hike. The view was breathtaking indeed. it’s a must to do when in sapa. But honestly if you’re not a fan on mud, long walks up and down the mountain. This is not for you.
quite a nice hike, nay be slipperyfor some sepcially since I went during rainy/winter season. but generally quite easy. really A LOT of hard selling of products by locals, the klook operators doesn't really help much to deflect them
Redemption is easy , we will contact 1 day before to wait at hotel lobby. It was raining and make the hike more difficult as it muddy and slippery too. From cloud hunting to the village, the view is marvellous. I will said this is not easy hike. They are many villages woman will come and help you , speak good English and they hike all the way with you. They are extremely helpful and really take care of you. As our group are very big, the tour guide cannot take care of everyone especially we are behind. End of the trek, they will sell you pouch n bags which is double what the city selling but we are willing to buy from them for their help. Highly recommended this trekking
One of the most beautiful places I have been in my life! The trek was tiring and a bit difficult but it is definitely worth it. I don’t recommend this for unfit people since the trek is not a walk in the park. The views were absolutely mesmerizing. I guess the only down side of this tour were the locals forcing us to buy stuff from them which were overpriced. An old lady from the village was selling me a coin purse for 300k which was only 40k in Sapa town. Aside from this, other aspects were perfect.
My muddy experience. Going down to the bottom is very slippery. You need to buy good hiking shoe. There are aunties help you and at the end of the trip I tip one of the aunties help me throughout.
New is a Hmong tour guide, pretty and knowledgeable. The trip was interesting and interactive with the village people. the paddy field is simply mesmerising
