Kakheti One Day Tour
Kakheti is Georgia’s wine capital, where we’ll start with a visit to a wine cellar to explore winemaking in kvevri, a UNESCO-listed heritage technique. Enjoy a tasting of 5-6 varieties of traditional Kakhetian wine, along with cognac and chacha. Next, we’ll stop in Badiauri village to join the baking of traditional bread in a clay oven.
Our journey continues to Bodbe Monastery, a nunnery built on the burial site of Saint Nino, cherished by Georgian kings and restored over centuries. We’ll also visit Sighnaghi, the “City of Love,” with stunning views of the Caucasus, the Alazani Valley, and the ancient Great Wall of Sighnaghi.
Good to know
Visit traditional wine cellars to taste authentic Georgian wine made in qvevri clay vessels. The best time to enjoy Kakheti’s landscapes is late afternoon, when the views over the Alazani Valley are especially impressive. Don’t miss the chance to try local specialties paired with regional wines. If possible, plan your visit during the harvest season (September–October) to experience Kakheti’s wine culture at its peak.-
