Vienna City Card

Very useful for traveling around Vienna with a complete network of metro, bus, tram transportation. Easy to activate, when you arrive at the airport, install IVIE (playstore) fill in the data, finish, open your email to confirm/activate, the QR code will automatically appear in the IVIE app. For Austria, install OBB to make it easier to find transportation anywhere.

This card helped me saved a lot during my stay in Vienna due to unlimited use of public transporation and with some discounts in entrance fee of various museum and library.

Basically, you only need to show it when checking tickets; otherwise, you can pass through easily. Overall, it's very practical and highly recommended for purchase.

The transportation card is very useful. Although the price is a bit more expensive than buying single tickets, you can get discounts at participating attractions, which makes it worthwhile. So, if you're not planning to visit any attractions, don't buy this card, it won't be cost-effective.

Easy to use. Better to buy this if you do not want the trouble of separatley buying individual tickets for each tram/train/bus trip. Although in Austria you can freely enter and exit any public transport without having to show or tap your card, there are random checks done to check if you have a card. But we didnt encounter this during the trip.

When traveling with family and friends, buy a 72-hour city pass in advance and redeem it on the system and download it on your personal mobile phone in advance. This will not only reduce the hassle of buying tickets on site, but also make full use of public transportation to enjoy Vienna.
