Hida Takayama 🏘️
Located in the northern part of Gifu Prefecture, Hida Takayama is known as "Little Kyoto of Hida." This area preserves old streets from the Edo period, allowing you to feel a strong sense of history as you stroll through them, as if traveling through time. We recommend taking a leisurely walk through the "Sanmachi" district in the center of Takayama City to admire the architectural styles of the Meiji and Taisho periods. In the afternoon, we will head to Shirakawa-go, surrounded by mountains and crisscrossed by streams, known as the kingdom of forests and streams. Ogimachi Village is the most famous part of the Shirakawa-go World Heritage site, preserving 152 traditional Gassho-style houses 🏠. If you wish to overlook the entire view, you can go to the Shiroyama Viewpoint on your own to admire the picturesque village scenery and the Mount Haku mountain range ⛰️ in the background.

Although today is having a heavy snow but still we are still able to go to our destination. Our driver 小桂really a smart driver drove us whole day. We are very enjoying our photo session with heavy snow. 😆Thankful to 小桂🙏
Like that the driver picked up at the hotel. The day tour is in a small group of 9 people and everyone was cooperative in timing. The driver is good in controlling the timing and the itinerary.
the tour is very smooth and easy because i choose the package with hotel pick up and drop off. and we are only 5pax in the private van so nice.
It was my first time in Japan. On the first day, I chose a route that would pick me up at the hotel. The driver was an atypical Northeasterner, very nice. There were two other groups of tourists traveling with us, all very nice. I didn't go to the observatory in Shirakawa-go, so the experience was average. I checked in for the internet-famous pudding, which was good. I walked around the streets of Takayama, but the coffee was not good, hahaha. But Maruaki's Sukiyaki was great. I dined at around 2pm, so there weren't many people.
The tour guide was humorous and the itinerary was arranged very punctually. I hope to come back to see Gassho Village in winter next time. I highly recommend it to everyone.
The scenery is great. It's my first time to join this group. I will probably come here every year. The departure time of this place can be more punctual.
Traveling during pregnancy means walking slowly, so this boutique tour's hotel pick-up service was convenient and comfortable. Unlike large group tours with many people, all itineraries were quicker and saved time. I was initially hesitant about the 7:30 AM meeting time, but then I found out the tour guide could pick us up at 8 AM. We were back at the hotel by 6 PM, and the service was very friendly!!
Shirakawa-go is very beautiful in the snow. In fact, you can rent a car for 6-9 people, so you can flexibly choose the time to stay in each place. I personally prefer Shirakawa-go. Takayama is full of Edo architecture, which can be visited quickly.
I originally thought the itinerary was at 7:30, but it turned out to be 8:15. I was a little surprised, but the tour guide’s service was very good. I hope the next itinerary can be described clearly.
I think the driver was excellent. I highly recommend this product; it was even more fun than I expected. This tour offers incredible value for money.
