Reviews
This was by far the best tour I’ve ever been on in Japan. Definitely not the typical chaotic tours… The tour itself was well planned with a good paced schedule. The team was incredibly professional and friendly. Kim was an absolute delight, informative, knowledgeable, and engaging. Along with driver Iwasaki san, who spoke great English and was very polite. Kemil (pretty sure, I butchered the name here, sorry), a learning guide from the Philippines, showed great enthusiasm, and this clearly shows that the company (Snow Monkey Resorts Tours) have great & passionate employees .
Our guide, A, was great! Pace of travel was just nice and the driver was very safe too. We had a nice cosy group of 7 people and the van was just nice to accommodate us all. Ise is not a common tourist thing to visit (I think), I’m glad we got to see them this time round!
I booked this tour without looking into it as I had a free day in Nagoya and I didn’t regretted anything. both the tour guide were very knowledgeable on the history of the shrines. would highly recommend
My guide,Kim (Snow Monkey Tour) was superb. Kim is very knowledgeable with the history and Japanese folklore despite being a non-Japanese native. This diversity adds on to a very refreshing take of the tour. Language was no barrier as Kim is fluent in English + Japanese. I was in awe of tales of Goddess Amaterasu, Goddess Tsukiyomi and Susanoo-no-Mikoto throughout the journey. The itinerary for this tour is a gem. The places featured are very much well known destinations for locals and this offers a unique experience to have been able to visit sacred spots only the locals know. Ise is a city worth visiting in the Mie prefecture. Hence, this is definitely a tour not to be missed when you are in Nagoya.. Highly recommended to be included as part of your travel plans! Last but not least, Snow Monkey Tour group do not discriminate solo travellers and this means as a frequent solo traveller myself, I am able to participate in tours that caters to 1 pax only.
Our guide is Kim from America who is a friendly and knowledgeable lady. She taught us things that other tour never mentioned about Japan culture like how to pray when go to Shrines. we are so lucky to have her for our day tour to Ise. one issue is that we didn't receive any email from Klook to inform us the contact person & company who will bring us for the day tour. Kindly look into this matter so that we don't have to search for the guide without any information.
I forgot the name of the American tour guide, sorry~ but he was very nice and introduced the past and present of Ise Shrine along the way. He explained every point in detail, serious and cute~ The terrain of the shrine is great, but I have a little doubt that I saw online that it is rebuilt every 20 years, and the tour guide said it is 30 years... Well, don't worry about it~ I drank spicy beer in the ancient street next to the shrine, sorry I really can't do it🤣After eating Ise Udon😋, I went to Ise Bay. I looked at the forecast and the tour guide said at the beginning that the weather today might rain, so I didn't have any expectations, but when I came to the bay, this blue land really just wanted to sit here in a daze... It's so beautiful! The two groups of tourists traveling with us were Hong Kong compatriots. It was a good opportunity to practice Cantonese speaking hahaha🤣
Although this was a new itinerary of the travel agency, few people participated, and I actually became the only guest. But this still does not affect the quality of the journey, on the contrary, it becomes its advantage. In this peaceful journey, the tour guide Kim did a lot of research on Ise Jingu and explained the entire worship process and history in detail. The driver, Orlando, drove safely and quickly and was waiting for the pickup in advance. Although it was a new trip for the travel agency, few people attended, and I actually became the only guest. The tour guide was incredibly enthusiastic and friendly, providing detailed explanations and demonstrating a thorough understanding of the culture, history, and traditions. Even though she wasn't Japanese, communication was very smooth. Overall, the trip was a lot of fun and a wonderful experience.
Ise is the biggest Shintoism shrine in Japan and is a must visit for anyone who wants to experience Japanese traditions. The guide, Kim, made learning Japanese culture fun. The old town was quite crowded this time of the year with locals, but you will still be able to enjoy the food. Kim also recommended this coffee shop with a good view of the river, and it has really good coffee too. Be ready for the cold and windy weather when visiting the wedded rocks.
Ise is very far and difficult to reach with children. Thank you to the two tour guides for their thoughtfulness and professionalism. Although it is difficult to talk in English🤣, the two tour guides explained very carefully so that I can understand it. The weather today is cloudy, but it is still spectacular. pretty
