Tunku Abdul Rahman Island Visit & Boat Snorkeling Experience

Our family of four, including two elementary school-aged daughters, participated in this tour. If you're coming to Kota Kinabalu, we highly recommend joining this tour for three reasons. First, the guides are kind and friendly. Not only was the hotel transfer driver excellent, but the snorkeling guide was also perfect. On the way back, a staff member even escorted us to our driver's car, which was reassuring. Second, it's safe for snorkeling beginners because the guides stay with you the entire time. This time, we swam so close to a sea turtle that we could almost touch it. We also encountered large schools of beautiful fish, making for a truly valuable experience. Third, you receive photos and videos from your time in the ocean. Although we didn't bring an underwater camera, we received many photos and videos directly to our smartphones on the spot. Being able to capture our family snorkeling and the beautiful marine life in photos and videos became a great treasure from our trip. It was a very worthwhile tour. We are grateful.

Overall, had a great day snorkeling at 3 different spots. Managed to see some nemo fishes!! Expect that there will be some wait time in the morning before getting onto the boats. But every other time when the boat picks us up after the snorkeling/diving sessions, it’s a very easy process to follow. We had Chong as our snorkeling guide who was very helpful to point out where certain fishes are so we were able to catch a glimpse of the sea creatures and enjoy our time more. The lunch provided was simple but pretty good — had the mushroom and chicken rice. I can’t remember the other driving guide and boat driver’s name but they were great too. Thank you to this team:)

The meeting place in the photo was different from the actual one, which wasted us 30 minutes. The email asked us to provide shoe sizes, and the neighboring boat also provided fins, but ours didn't, which was disappointing. However, the sea view was really comfortable, there were a lot of fish and turtles, and the trip was quite safe and worth experiencing.

Although the weather was bad and the underwater vision was not clear, the tour guide was very enthusiastic to help lead us to appreciate the corals and fish

we were on board with 6 scuba divers and there was only 4 snorkelers.The tour was catered around the scuba diving.We left the harbour late at 9am instead of 8:30am.Once we got to the destination we had to wait for the divers to get ready and off the boat before we could even snorkel.After the first session we then got dropped off to the island to snorkel while the scuba divers went off on there next dive then came back late and lunch was half and hour late.After lunch they went again on another dive and left us on the island and came back again half and hour late to pick us up and then arrived back at the harbour half and early.I would not recommend this trip as there wasn’t much snorkeling as it was more about the scuba divers.

the guides were really nice.. i liked our guide - Lily a lot… the food was also very good with generous serving… we were able to do snorkelling at three sites

the guide is very good and the journey is wonderful. just the lunch is fair, seafood noodle without seafood

thanks for the great experience, very well planned and fun! my kids truly enjoyed it!

We booked a Chinese/English plan, but the whole process was only in English. The elders in the family could not understand it. It was the first time for snorkeling and they had no idea how to use the equipment. The accompanying service staff went straight into the sea and swam away without teaching passengers how to use it. Fortunately, I have snorkeled before so I can teach my family about it, otherwise no one else would have to do it. The safety issue is worrisome! Also, the scheduled end time of the trip is 15:30, but the trip ends at 13:30. Is this a waste of our money?
