Featured Silver Ring Workshop
—Shaping—
In metal craftsmanship, handmade jewelry typically uses metal sheets or wires. In this "Shaping" ring workshop, participants can learn the basic concepts of metal's toughness and ductility. By hammering or squeezing with external force, the metal's ductility and malleability are used to change its shape, allowing the metal to present richer and more varied shapes, making the entire piece more three-dimensional.
—Fusion—
Fusion differs from general welding techniques. It primarily involves raising the surface temperature of the metal to hover around the melting point, allowing the metal surface to liquefy, thereby achieving fusion with adjacent metals. When learning to weld initially, there is a chance that the metal surface will melt due to inaccurate temperature control. Interestingly, when used properly, this surface treatment that hovers around melting can create a unique aesthetic.
